Tabby is a frosty brown taupe color that was in the Holiday 2005 Magenta palette. I believe that was the only collection that it was in.

so i b2m for Top Hat, Smoke and Diamonds and Sunset B because my mom liked the color and suggested it for me. lol. she liked Top Hat as soon as i swatched and said get that one!! haha!! She liked Lotusland too as did i so i may go back for that. I tried out some perm pinks just to show her the different pinks that they had and she was like you can always get those later get this one i like it. haha!! I will probably do a look on my mom for fun because she was playing around with the shadows in the store when we were there...well she was trying to. lol. it was interesting because i have never seen her take interest in wearing make up on herself but rather on me.

I just found out that my mom went to MAC last week w/o me!

It was a real shocker since my mom has never bought anything at MAC before but she has been there with me in the past when I would swing by just to look at stuff. lol She is more of a Lancome and Estee Lauder fan.

So as I was looking for her pencil sharpener, low and behold I found a lippie! I stormed out of the room with it like a crazy woman and got all excited

and found mom in the kitchen and she gave me this weird look.

I was like wow mom you actually bought a $14 lippie at MAC?? Why didn't you ask me! I could have gotten you a freebie.

Now its just a matter of time before she joins specktra

Seriously, I'm trying to be really good and buy things I need instead of want. Its true, I don't have any dark purple e/s from MAC but I do have Entremauve pigment that I never use. I also have 2 dark(ish) purples from Ben Nye.

So please, do I need Top Hat???????????

Hmm, if you would ask me I would say yes as I love purples

Would you like to try them out more? If so, I think the Starflash e/s have a great texture...

I find that all of these shadows are really 'morph-able' - they can be changed up depending on the layering. I am fair, and didn't think that I'd use Top Hat that much, but I find myself reaching for it constantlly to deepen my crease, over a lot of different combinations. The blendability is just so superb.

Today's EOTD is Artifact p/p over lid/up to crease. Go all over that. Grand Entrance over that and up to brow to blend everything. Then I went with Sunset B. on the center lid and above crease, and Top Hat deep into crease.

I wouldn't be able to achieve the same effect easily without the texture of these shadows, or at least without time-consuming blending.

I like all of the ones I got (except Dream Maker - it's just ok) and am going to try to get backups of most of them!

Hello Kitty + MAC? Goodbye money! I don't have tons of Hello Kitty stuff, but I do like it a lot, and would probably be totally suckered in by the packaging.

This is so funny! XD My mom never took an interest in MAC before till I started offering to split pigments with her. Now she's wild crazy about pigments! But she still won't buy them for herself, I still have to just scoop out some for my mom. x3

I did a look with Starflash that was sooo pretty!
Lotusland all over the lid. Top Hat in my crease that isn't a crease.. (LOL Asian eyes wut?), Top Hat on the lower lashline, Naked Lunch to highlight. Simple, but pretty! =)

This is one of the few occasions where I've skipped ALL of the eyeshadows of a collection with no regrets. They all seemed so dupable to me. I did get Raven though.

Thanks. I will probably do the same and use Top Hat (if I get it) for creating a darker crease. But the problem is I don't grab for purples that much. Decisions, decisions...

I just got my Talent Pool in the mail and I can totally see why the color payoff would be criticized...I tried it on my hand w/ the 213 brush and it barely showed up as anything! But, with the 239 it definitely shows up, so I guess I will keep it. Very beautiful color, I am happy it's not too dark of a teal, like Cool Heat.

My mom loves Lancome and Estee Lauder too! And that is how I always manage to end up with free Estee Lauder stuff and a couple of brushes hehe. Gosh, and today she kept bugging the Shiseido MU for freebies when we were there XP

LOL!! Yea my mom took a look at the pigments too and commented that they were pretty. I might just do the same with my mom except get her started with Lippies and Blushes first since that's what she uses most when we do go out.

Im hoping to make a another MAC addict out of her.

At least a partial one she still doesn't understand why i spend so much on makeup but then she sees the outcome and doesn't say anything. My fiance gets that MAC is a pretty good brand and therefore doesn't complain when i ask for something from there. lol.

OOOOO!! That look sounds so pretty!! I swatched Top Hat and Lotusland right next to each other and they look stunning together!! Sunset B looked pretty with those colors too. Im not one for girly colors like pink and purple so much but omg these ones are prettttyyy!! AHAH!! Your comment about asian eyes...you can create an illusion of a crease though can't you if makeup is applied the proper way or something?? I've seen it done...

so, i got my second batch of e/s today [dreammaker, bold & brazen, sunset b. and glamour check!]. the pigmentation and texture of dreammaker & sunset b. are very lacking. dreammaker was very sheer and went on like a lustre, gritty. sunset b. was a little smoother going on but was very translucent. needless to say, they are going back.

bold & brazen and glamour check! on the other hand, gorgeous! i swear bold & brazen is like the prettiest thing i've ever seen. i was not expecting that at all. i paired the two today and it was beautiful. omg, they blended with each other seamlessly. i just twirled by 224 over the point that the two of them met and within a second they were blended. love it! these are dreamy.

i'll prob. go back and order grand entrance [and maybe go]. i've been lemming GE for awhile now. plus, i happen to know for a certainty that these two are the only two left, which i don't have, that have that true "starflash" texture.
