after more consideration, I really want two BP's except briar rose and probably the MES with green, maybe someday the red gloss for special occasions and that's it

I'll have to test stuff in store first tho.

yea, this powder is totally similar to PX old Cooling powder -- now it is called Magical though. PX powder was lovely but PX folded and since it belonged to EL, they passed on the technology to MAC. Now MAC has added some shimmer to it and on application it delivers a lovely sheen to the complexion.

the Cajun powder is either a bronzing powder or does the same job for a woc as the T&L.

Nah uh!

I'm so bad b/c I have bills to pay, things I want to buy and then things I need to buy. I used to keep all my make up in my top dresser drawer and i didn't realize that I have so much make up that the drawer just gave out! Half of my make up slid down the back of the dresser and underneath it. Now I have most of my make up in Mac shopping bags that I never threw out. I knew they'd come in handy (

). I'm eyeing this colorful rolling cart thing from Amazon. When it rains, it pours, I tell 'ya.

This confirms exactly what I thought. I bought the original Px magic powder when they first launched it, I think 10 years ago (I remember Tricia Sawyer demoing it at that year's IMATS - she was a sweetheart, BTW). I bought it for my kit, but ended up almost never using it. Very interesting concept, though, and it does feel good when you apply it.

I definitely don't want a bronzer. I am firmly against it b/c I am brown enough. I was thinking of using it as a sort of finishing powder, but I wonder if Cajun is maybe too dark? Maybe I should go for Truth and Light or would that make me look ashy? I'm NC45. I guess I'll just have to swatch it.

After Temptalia's post about this collection, I may end up cutting my FF list in half to save up for this!!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

After seeing Temptalia's swatches my list looks like this:

Toxic Tale l/s
Briar Rose bp
Truth&Light Magically Cool Powder
all three nail laquers

and maybe:
Oh so fair bp
Bite of an apple blush
Innocence,Beware l/s

I looove the nail laquers,I did not expect them to look that good.I like them way better than the nail trend ones. And also the Rodarte ones which I was planning to get both.So I'll be cutting down both of those lists. And I'm completely skipping FF to save up for VV.

I'm wondering if Bite of an Apple is similar to Marine Life...

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

wow, more swatches, yey! My list didn't change that much though. I want:

- Truth and Light magic powder
- Dark Deed l/s
- Bad Fairy n/p
- Formidable n/p
- Vile Violet e/s

I'm still intimidated by Bite of an Apple blush
th_dunno.gif
. I think it's too bold!

The nail polishes look gorge
drools.gif
! I'm not feeling the green one but the other two are mine
th_DANCE.gif

I wanted to get both magic powders but Cajun looks too dark. On Temptalia it looks like a bronzer and I'm about her shade just cooler (she's NC25, I'm NW25). I have enough bronzers so will get only the light one to use as face powder and highlighter

No MES for me, I love my Style Black ones but I don't think I need any more.

Overall, Maleficient is still my fave part of this collection as I thought initially. Dark and sultry makeup is the best!

They sell them at Sally's. At least here in Ontario. I also see them in Winners all the time, at a fraction of the price.

So much choice, I am truly intrigued by the magic cooling powder though, Truth and Light. If I get anything, my list will probably include that. We'll see if work keeps going the way it is, and fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong in my life I may just have a little spending cash. I truely hope so because... I would really love that powder!!

I've seen some Orly polishes at Pharmaprix/Shoppers Drug Mart; hopefully that means they're phasing a larger collection of them into the stores!

Her Marine Life swatch does look kind of washed out compared to how it is for me irl, but then again I'm a paler skin tone that she is.

That said BoA seems like maybe it's more related to Hipness (which I don't have) than to ML.

I've been all around on this issue for a while now and have decided to not worry about it, reserve a BoA, then bring my ML with me and compare it right there in the store before I buy. This is the ultimate issue about swatches as makeup formulas get more and more finely milled and processed - it makes them more versatile, but much harder to photograph and swatch definitively.

For now still interested in both MES, and a lipstick.

I wish one of the models had a darker skin tone, so i could see how versatile the colors are, as stated in the vid. all races...

I do like that she's willing to do full face shots for lip and blush swatches. That's a lot of heavy lifting.

Erin's swatches are still the most consistently accurate color-wise!

I like swatches more for the texture, cause the swatches color wise don't do anything for me.
