I think it could be more representative of Disney's image as well.. well, at least the characters - this is venomous villians after all.. where's the evil twist to it?

i totally agree. the look was extremely boring IMO and lacked imagination. yeah, there's more i could say, but i'll just leave it at that.

and hergreyness, the shadow is most definately copper and not bronze. there's a huge difference between copper and bronze.

The look Temptalia did is nice, IMO, but it's not something I'd want to recreate. It's good for her skintone, though.

I really don't like the look of Innocence, Beware! lipstick and Darkly My Dear blush looks like nothing. I've never been a fan of Carbon and I don't like copper/bronze colors on myself, personally. I just don't find this collection very inspiring.

I almost got swept up in the excitement here, but looking closely at everything, I just can't stay on board. My list remains very, very short.

Ok, I feel like I'm just gonna drill a hole in my wallet for this collection, I think I'm getting A LOT of the stuff.

So far, I'm getting all the MES, Revenge is Sweet lipglass, probably Bad Fairy and Formidable! nail lacquers, definitely Resort Life lipgelee, and Devilishly Stylish lipglass.

i did like the eyes on the look. especially since i can dupe it with something i have at home already. i thought it was something obtainable by anyone beginner to intermediate... i fall somewhere in there. i see what you mean by wanting to see something edgy. in time, the blogs and you-tubers are going to be blowing us away with looks!

can't wait!!

Wandalemur, probably you're like me? This is what our color story says.

Lipglass

Wicked Ways- Light nude with gold pearl
Devilishly Stylish- Deep fuchsia with pink pearl

I was looking forward to Devilishly Stylish for deep fuchsia l/g, but then, when I heard the dupe for Devilishly Stylish is Prrr, I got totally confused. Prrr is not deep fuchsia at all. After the Temptalia's swatches, I found out that our color story got mixed up. (Could anyone sweet fix this?

Ladies, it's time to move on from your bog-standard 3 or 4 or 5 color, uber-blended eye look with vertical bands of color across the lid from dark on the outside to light on the inner edge, always with the mascara and liner, etc etc.

We have wonderful new formulas that can let us do so much more - sheer, smudged, darkened, elongated, ringed, paled, raw, violent, wet, glowing, unfinished, the list goes on.

Call me old, but I remember the days when you couldn't do any of the above because the formulas usually just weren't versatile, buildable or blendable enough.

Nowadays, you can really play and still look polished and put together, so go crazy already!

Okay, it has taken me part of yesterday and most of today to look at swatches, watch videos, and read reviews from both Temptalia and Karen's site. Let me add, I was also working during this time. Anyway, my wishlist has not changed that much from when I first heard about this collection. But, because there is so much I want, my FF list has been cut back to the two items I wanted from the beginning and nothing more. I have to cut something somewhere and that seems like the best place to cut.

I have to say I'm giddy about this collection. The fact that they are focusing on what I love, strong eye, blush, and lip makes me even more giddy. It's a look I love and wear alot. I also like the idea of how they picked the colors, from the original pantone.

Wishlist
Cruella
Heartless Lipstick(2)
Wicked Ways Lipglass
Darkly My Dear Blush

Evil Queen
Bite of an Apple Blush
Her Alter Image Es
Vile Violet Es
Vainglorious Es

Malificent
Violetta Ls
Briar Rose BP

Dr Facilier
Mirror

That seems easy enough...not too bad. The problem is the maybe list. Most of the items on that list have been a maybe almost since the beginning. I will not more swatches and maybe a trip to the counter to decide.

Maybe
Her own Devices BP-maybe be too light for my skinetone
Toxic Tale-I don't look good in corals but if it's more red, it may work.
Hot House-I already have two
Dark Deed-More vampy than I normally go for

Revenge is Sweet-can someone please tell me why it looks so dark, hot and purple in the tube but pink in swatches

Wrong Spell
French Quarter GPS-pretty but not sure I would use
Cajun MCLP-not sure I would use

Good question! I was wondering exact same thing! Could anyone help?

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Mmm.

I actually feel quite anxious about swatching this collection because after all, products turn up differently when on different skin and seeing that I've got asian skin, I'm dead sure that it's going to be way different. I'm going to hang on until I get to properly see them in person.

I sometimes think that swatches are really misleading because the photos are taken under different light... And the worst part is when I forget that my skin tone is different from the swatcher's and end up completely disappointed in the store.

I don't remember how many times that has happened - like, I think it'd work, get excited and rush down to the store, only to look at the swatch and think "Dang, that wasn't worth my trip down at all..." and walk out empty handed because that was the only product I wanted.

Exactly! it's called Venomous Villains. I'm looking forward to doing nice dark eyes and lips (screw the adage that you shouldn't do both), or big, smudgy, dramatic eyes and... well, you get the idea. I think the MES are going to be amazing for this sort of look and between this collection and FF the dark lipstick fan who lives in my heart is going to be very happy.
