I have heard/read it is the same, and several blogs teach how to do a "homemade mixing medium". I never tried it though - neither the MAC nor the homemade one.

Did you guys ever watch the TV show V on ABC? Today hubby was watching it and all I could think of was the amazing lip color Anna was wearing

Do you think Dark Deed is anything like it? or is Cunning or Kittenish from FF is more like it?? What a beautiful shade

Wraaaaagh I was pretty chill about this collection until I saw a write-up about it in a Sunday newspaper liftout this morning. Now I want about half a dozen things

Re: nail strengthener, I swear by China Glaze's Calcium Gel. My nails are super thin and tear/peel like crazy, but Calcium Gel really helped to make them much stronger.

Yes, it's sort of the same thing and they both achieve the same look but mixing medium has other ingredients that can make it last longer than the homemade one, I believe.

i was really tempted by briar rose (i love the packaging) but i already have dame and i'm wondering if it's worth getting br as well, although dame is my go-to blush...

i'm maybe an nw15 or thereabouts (i had two different opinions from MUAs - one thought nc5, then another overruled her and said nw15... i'm definitely an nw, but i am deathly pale!) with dark blonde/strawberry blonde hair, so i'm not sure if i can pull off dark deed or heartless, but i keep hearing awesome things about them and i don't have anything like dark deed in my collection yet. i'm also a bit worried innocence will wash me out, but i've been trying to find a nude/light pink lipstick i can pull off and i'm not ready to give up yet

does anyone think there's anything i need to add to my list that i'm missing?

Sorry if this has already been said, but I didn't have time to read through this huge thread... My friend is in Vegas and said the Pro store there on the strip is selling this collection early

Not sure if all pro stores are, but that one is for sure.

It'll depend on your skin tone. Briar Rose will be a more prominent blush that's for sure. Oh So Fair is really pretty too though.

They have awesome payoff, I love mine! She Who Dares is much more shimmery than My Dark Magic, so if you're worried about possible fallout throughout the day maybe consider MDM.

water and glycerin are only 2 of the many ingredients in the MM. i personally wouldn't feel safe using something homemade when i can buy something specifically for cosmetics and know it'll be safe.

I'm not really following the polish talk in the thread, as I'm no nail fiend, but I believe it was mentioned earlier that the OPI lacquer 'The Show Must Go On' from their winter collection is a possible dupe for Bad Fairy, not an Orly polish.

For sure check out Heartless, it was beautiful when I swatched it! Such a nice red if you're comfortable wearing red lipsticks.

Perhaps check out Bite of an Apple as well, it's gorgeous!

i'm not totally comfortable wearing red lipsticks (i've never managed to wear one outside the house yet) but i've only really tried one... i'm hoping i'll get on better with heartless (although i'm wondering if it's easily dupable?) because i LOVE the bright red lipstick look!

bite of an apple was on my list for the longest time, but i'm a bit scared it'll be too dark on me, i don't think i can work coral-ish blushes and i figure if i have to sheer it out a lot then i'll never get through it

it's so pretty though!

Definitely try Dark Deed, and I am having the same reservations about Heartless. But, I have to try red sometime, right? Why not now?

Also, I had similar worries about Bite of an Apple, but then someone brought up Snow White cheeks. So... I think it'll work really awesome on pale skin!!!

Since you convinced me to try Dark Deed... I'm going to convince you to try Heartless.

I never owned any red lip products, so this was my first. It's so wearable and can be sheer or heavier and it's very flattering on us pale girls/

And you just NEED Bite of an Apple!

Do you have any thoughts on Wicked Ways? It looks straight-up pink in some swatches, and if that is the case, I'll pass. I don't know if you've seen it, but if you have, I'd love any thoughts.
