Wow! I knew this thread would blow up but I had no idea just how much. I will go back and read what I missed but had to add my experience here.

I've been into MAC for a long time and I have seen alot of hyped collections but I have never experienced anything like this.

At a couple of local Nordies: I saw people buying 5-9 of each item. I saw employees of other lines try to take items as MAC employees were trying to bag pre-orders for regular customers. I heard that one customer purchased the entire stock of one counter. I would guess that you would be hard pressed to find any of this still in stock in my area.

I felt embarrassed that I spent so much $$ on my daughter and myself. Combined our total was $229. There were people there spending $3K-$4K.
The multiple sales I witnessed were mostly to older men. Guess we'll see it on Ebay soon.

Now that I have vented the bad let me tell you something good. The MAC employees that I know (and some whom I am lucky enough to call friends) were amazing. You know that old saying "grace under pressure"? This definitely applies. Especially at my favorite Nordies counter. My friend who manages the counter and her crew were working on getting all preorders complete even if they had to hide things from other counters. They had a smile on their faces and were gracious to each and every customer even when they were 20 deep at the counter (which was early on). Our preorder was completed without a hitch and we got everything we wanted. I just love and appreciate the ladies at this counter so much I took them candy to help the day seem a little sweeter.

For the record, my guess would be that most everything was sold out in my area within a couple of hours. I would be interested to hear Katie's opinion since we live so close to each other.

And I am there with you on the whole Disney collection and fun. I've watched more Disney movies the last couple of days. I keep putting on killer lipsticks (toxic tale, violetta, dark deed), while getting all "Maleficent"-ified! Etc.

The level of happiness I have been experiencing over Violetta is unreal!!!
I'm so glad it came out in this collection, because it's one of the colors on my "want to try eventually, but it's permanent, so I will, after the current collection, but crap, I have to wait until next month because I spent all my money... "

I'm considering renaming my daughter "Violetta"

I also am in utter love with Toxic Tale.. not the best name for girl.

I picked up my first pre-order last night - Toxic Tale lipstick, Briar Rose BP & one of the Mineralized e/s duos. I am picking up my 2nd tonight, which should include Bite of Apple & Bad Fairy. I am happy to see that there are no cheesy stickers on the packages like there were on Fafi.

I am kind of glad I haven't even been to a counter with this collection. (instead I just keep making orders, ack!!!)
That is just assinine! Especially thinking of the older men at their computers selling these awesome goodies.

I didn't get the full run down of all that was used, but here is what I remember: Face: Studio Sculpt foundation Select Cover up concealer A Mineralized blush, I think Warm Soul, for the highlight Another blush for the apples and hollows of my cheeks, i have no memory. i need to take something for that. Eyes: I want to say Macroviolet for the base, but am not sure. Haute & Naughty mascara My Dark Magic MES Beautiful Iris On the Hunt superslick liner Brows: I think she used Strut, but it could be Spiked? Either way it's not what I usually use, but still fun to try. She cleaned the lines and refined with the concealer and a stiff brush. Lips: Filled in with Spice liner and topped with Underage lipglass. and that is all my brain will recall, and it has probably screwed that up anyway. regardless, i had fun, and am glad everyone that has been able to get out and see the collection and get what they wanted has done so!

Briar Rose on the cheeks
Wrong Spell with plum lipliner

How do you sharpen a greasepaint stick?

SO loving my haul from this collection, probably will have to make a small 2nd one too.

Anyone not wanting to get She Who Dares just for the green side should just get it! I have blue flame from SB but that green side is the shizznit! Love revenge is sweet over violetta too, and Her own devices is lovely on NW15. Very happy almost Birthday girl.

If you pull off the colored part at the bottom, there's a sharpener.
