Hi Guys, this is my first post!
Going to get my goodies in a bit. My store held my items for me, and they called me about three times to make sure they had everything correct on their list (I think they called soo much b/c I called twice to add more items to my list. lol) So here is my list:

Definites:
Both MESD
Dark Deed
Wrong Spell
Push the Edge
French Quarter
Sinister
Innocence Beware!
Bad Fairy NP

I have a long list of the maybes... but I'm not sure if I want to go over my limit. Quick question... would Darkly my Dear blush show up on a medium skin tone? I'm not sure what shade I am in MAC foundation, but I am a 128 in the MUF line. I was hoping to use this blush when doing a smokey look, but I am not sure if would be suitable for me. Ok. done with my huge question. lol. TIA.

I've been into MAC for a long time and I have seen alot of hyped collections but I have never experienced anything like this.

At a couple of local Nordies: I saw people buying 5-9 of each item. I saw employees of other lines try to take items as MAC employees were trying to bag pre-orders for regular customers. I heard that one customer purchased the entire stock of one counter. I would guess that you would be hard pressed to find any of this still in stock in my area.

I felt embarrassed that I spent so much $$ on my daughter and myself. Combined our total was $229. There were people there spending $3K-$4K.
The multiple sales I witnessed were mostly to older men. Guess we'll see it on Ebay soon.

Now that I have vented the bad let me tell you something good. The MAC employees that I know (and some whom I am lucky enough to call friends) were amazing. You know that old saying "grace under pressure"? This definitely applies. Especially at my favorite Nordies counter. My friend who manages the counter and her crew were working on getting all preorders complete even if they had to hide things from other counters. They had a smile on their faces and were gracious to each and every customer even when they were 20 deep at the counter (which was early on). Our preorder was completed without a hitch and we got everything we wanted. I just love and appreciate the ladies at this counter so much I took them candy to help the day seem a little sweeter.

For the record, my guess would be that most everything was sold out in my area within a couple of hours. I would be interested to hear Katie's opinion since we live so close to each other.

April I am glad to hear that you got all of the items that you and your daughter wanted.

I didn't go to any of the local stores/counters to get my stuff this time because the last couple of collections I have had really bad service at my closest Nordstrom counter. They have "lost my pre-order" and/or can't find it, they have double charged me for the order they can't find, and I have had horrible service. This is a counter that I have gone to for 10+ years. It was really upsetting. Now I either need to drive to U Village or Southcenter. Neither of which are very close.

I really hate that people are buying so many of these items just to sell them.

It makes my blood boil!

So this time I just ordered online and picked a few things up while I was in Las Vegas last week for my birthday.

I saw that my VV haul is has arrived at my apartment but I am still at work. I can't wait to see everything!!

Anyone not wanting to get She Who Dares just for the green side should just get it! I have blue flame from SB but that green side is the shizznit! Love revenge is sweet over violetta too, and Her own devices is lovely on NW15. Very happy almost Birthday girl.

That's why I got it.

i'm glad i was going to pass on it anyways.

apparently i am the only one who didn't buy BoA, it really didn't wow me. i feel guilty though, like i was supposed to like it - what's wrong with me??

i got my dark magic only for the purple part - it's gorgeous.
i also got OSF because although i do have similiar colors, they are all mineralize blushes and therefore way sparklier which justifies the purchase, i think

my favourite buy is, as expected, innocence beware! it is such a pretty nude pink color i am fighting the urge to buy a back-up. this is seriously gorgeous!

i passed on devilishly stylish because it was too sheer for my pigmented lips and strange potion was way too orange on me.

saved some money for tartan tale i guess.

dont worry i am too not interested by BOAA blush. i have way to many other blushes and this one just doesnt do it for me

that is insane. i cannot believe that people could be that greedy, there should be a limit on what you can buy.
that is so sweet of you! sometimes i take chocolate to the counter i shop at

i am wearing melon pigment today, wow so pretty, even on my NC15 skin! i am def going to buy a full sized jar (only brought a sample to try it out), perfect natural colour for work

I did exactly the same.

In store I swatched it on my hand with my finger and it didn't feel anything special. At home I had already forgot that it was supposed to feel cool. I was surpriced when applying it with brush. It was so cool and "wet". I really like the way this powder both feels and looks. I hope MAC will keep on repromoting this if they won't add this to the permanent collection.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

My bf decided to be a sweetheart and get me a goodie basket of some of my favorite things since things have been super stressful at work the past couple months, amongst all the stuff was a She Who Dares MES! It was super sweet of him to do (and he made a good call picking that! lol) but I bought one online so now I've got two, I'll never use up the first one to need the second and I really don't want to return one just for it to get tossed out

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I was the first customer at our local counter today (I was on my way to work). I only swathed the stuff that was on my list. Truth and Light was my only "must have" and I'm so happy the color is light enough. I bought also Oh So Fair BP and the Bite of an Apple blush ("low priority maybe" on my list). I also swatched Dark Deed and Innocence, Beware l/s. Dark Deed was too dark and the other on too nude, so I skipped both.

I found BoaA less pigmented than what I expected after reading comments here on Specktra. But that's only a good thing, because I'm not very good in applying blush.

Ooh! I just realized that if I'm going out to the karaoke bar tonight, I have an excuse to create a nice smoky eye with My Dark Magic. Yippie!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Can someone link me to the dupe of the bad fairy nail polish. I looked on there and I only see this with the zoya nail polishes. And I quote

First and foremost, there is NO DUPE of MAC’s Bad Fairy. I’ve included swatch comparisons just to be absolutely clear about it, but Bad Fairy has a strong duochrome, while Zoya’s collection is more about a sparkling, metallic finish. Tiffany is incredibly peach in comparison, as well as lighter. Gloria has a very similar composition, but because it lacks the duochrome finish of Bad Fairy, it looks different on the nail; it is also less pink, more orange-red. I think the shade should stand on its own, rather than as a comparison to Bad Fairy.

How are you ladies wearing Truth and Light?

I dusted it on my cheeks first as a highlight, but it's a bit too subtle. Then I put it all over, but it felt like a bit much because I already wear a powder mineral foundation. Perhaps I should just use it as a quick fix all-over powder on the weekends or when I don't really have time to put on a full face?

I like my daughter's description of bad fairy on my nails:
"oohh, mom, you have fire at your fingertips!"
