First of all, all of the products need to be highly pigmented. The majority of Cajun/Creole women are medium to dark toned. This is because we are mix heritage of French, African American, and or Spanish. Not to mention this Louisiana sun shine beating down on us. I'm on the light end of the Creole spectrum at NC30.

Lipsticks
Cajun Queen- bronze coral (think fresh salmon with bronze) (amp. cream) (I hate frost finish, but this would be a good one for that as well)
Hurricane's a comin'- mid tone purple with fuchsia pearl (lustre)

Mineralize Eyeshadow- (like the one's from Style Black)
Mardi Gras- vibrant purple w/ gold pearl
Swamp- deep dirty green/taupe w/ gold pearl
Bon Ton Roulette- Silver w/ fuchsia pearl (good times roll)
Pontchartrain- true teal green w/ silver pearl (2nd largest salt water lake in the US., after the Great Lakes in UT)

Grease Paint Sticks
Gris Gris- Gold w/gold pearl
Voodoo- black w/ iridescent pearl
Magnolia- creamy white w/ green pearl

Powder Blush
Otherside- firey orangy/red (sheertone shimmer) (similar to NARS Exhibit A)
Azalea- (bring the Pro one on over to freestanding/counters)

LOL- That was fun!!

I know- it will look so sad and lonely. It makes me want to take it home, but I know I will never use it

I'm a bit disappointed with the packaging. It looks really childish. I wish they had done something like the images they had in the video promo.

I agree that MAC really phoned it in on this one. It could have been so interesting, creative and fun but they seem to just be using the Disney branding as a crutch. Maybe Disney made them bland it up, like they were afraid of anything very daring since Disney is about as middle of the road as it gets. Again I say...

Meh.

These images were really cool...but I'm guessing Disney (and maybe MAC, too) wanted it to be easily identifiable as "THIS IS DISNEY!" so they just used the regular images.
I AM sorta wondering if they're trying to get 5-year-olds to run into the store and grab stuff or something though. I'm just imagining a family walking through Macy's and then suddenly someone runs over to the MAC counter, saying "Mommy, look, it's Cruella!" or something...

i completely agree with you. it's a bit of a snoozefest. even the products are a bit safe... sad really, they really could have done so much with it.

I totally agree. I saw the rough sketch video and was really hoping they wouldn't change it too much from the sketches.
As it is it's boring in my opinion, and I was really hoping for some great Maleficient packaging. The apple blush sounds like it could be really pretty though.
I won't lost all hope in this collection until I see up-close product photos. :p

i will probaly end up depotting the blush i want. kinda stuck with the MES packaging. the regular eye shadows are not wowing me. probably skip those.

on another note, here's to hoping that MAC has enough stock on hand to support whatever we want. This collection is going to be huge whether us die hards love it or not. Please MAC have enough LE stock this time.

I just remembered where Sweet Joy e/s is from. It's from the Intriguing Scarlet Warm Eyes Palette in 2008 for those who already have it already.

The colour descriptions sound interesting though! and theres not many repromotes which is great to see. I just LOVE some of the product names lol .... i can imagine myself buying a product just for the name. Can't wait to see swatches!

So do we have confirmation yet if they are printed on or just stickers? Stickers would make me happy, the packaging is horrible.
I really liked the BP, MES and the one cherry-red lipstick. What were they thinking?

Well, I'm excited about this!!

I know most of you hate the packaging but I'm actually loving it. I know they've could done something better or more creative as those gorgeous sketches, but my heart just stopped and I yelled when I saw it!! I don't know... I don't care if it looks childish, I'm a kid and MAC it's my candystore!!!

MAC...Dr. Facilier collection, bad. VV packaging, bad. Increasing pigment prices and lowering size, bad. Changing Stereo Rose, very bad! Look out for what they do next.

It is just not my thing, but we all like different things. There I was hoping I would be more interested in the packaging.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

i cant understand why people think there's not enough creativity in the products themselves?

Just from looking at the photos, both blushes are amazing and like nothing other makeup companies are doing at all. I predict Darkly My Dear will be a total sleeper that will look fantastic on even lighter complexions and Bite of an Apple? No-brainer.

Also from the photos, both MES are more sophisticated then the typical darker shade/lighter highlighter and will be fun to use sheerly or foiled. Not to mention Vile Violet!

I'll agree a lot of the lip product descriptions don't sound particularly unusual, but there will be one or two standouts. Besides, what other company is daring enough to do a collection with strong, bright lips, cheeks and eyes and nails all together? Usually one area or the other gets toned down or just isn't provided in the collection. MAC is still taking a fashion forward lead here.

One last word: Briar Rose - that will be incredibly desireable. I bet when the swatches are out, there will be other nice surprises.

OK, rant over.

Same, I also quite like the packaging. As for getting it out in public, I'd be okay with it, but I'm not really bothered what people would think!

I'm going over my list everyday and cutting things or adding things to my lists, it's so hard though!
I think my 'I am NOT cutting these items under any circumstances on's are

*Oh So Fair - Mid-tone pink with gold pearl*
*Heartless - Cherry Red*
*Vainglorious - Bronze-Burgundy*
*Magically Cool Liquid Powder - Truth & Light*

I may have to go up to the metro centre everyday this week it's going to be released so if they're selling it I'll have it! I hope it goes up on the site early though once I've made my mind up of course!

I agree completely. I'm a bit bummed by the packaging myself because I was expecting something more artistic like other people but people turning their back on the collection itself just because of the packaging? The packaging isn't going to make anyone look any better. I have plenty of eyeshadows and other products in basic jars with handwritten labels on them and some of them are just as good as MAC, if not better.

Who cares about how the packaging looks as long as it gets the job done? Its not like its completely ghastly and unappealing -- I've seen quite a few people say they like it. Hell, I even said it was childish but there are some pretty amazing products that are in the line-up so that's not going to stop me from getting it all. Not to mention there a few really good collections coming out before and probably after Venomous Villains.

And if its a re-promote and you have it, then just don't buy that item again. More money in your pocket.

I'm worried Briar Rose is going to be far to much like Summer rose, they have the same colour description...

true it is more money in my pocket. however i was hoping that for such a well hyped collection allproducts would be brand new and never seen before. or at least a re-promote we hadn't seen in years. not something from 1 year ago.
