Hypathia, I love your post on age!

I think because I started working in elderly care (nursing homes, etc.) when I was 20, I early got a different perspective on the concept of "old". I'd be at work, taking care of people who were 84, 93, 79, who had children and grandchildren and great grandchildren... and then go for drinks with a friend who was freaking out because she was going to turn 22 and therefore felt "old". It just felt sort of silly to me, describing someone of 22 as old when I had met a woman the same day who was so happy because she was attending her daughter's 70th birthday.

I'm really excited about these too. I can't wait to see Close For Comfort (the pink one!). Erine's swatch is beautiful. This is exactly what my Wisconsin winter lips need right now.

i think i might skip this collection entirely. i wanted to get by candlelight, but after seeing karla's swatches i'm not sure..

After examining Karla's swatches, I can pass By Candlelight. Feeling Dreamy looks gorgeous in the swatches. It looks like it may be what I want instead of 2N. Can't wait to see this collection IRL.

This is one of those professional or Sarah Palin (I know, I know, but she looks like this) looks with the right highlight and tricks will be very everyday sexy.

I can see myself using the collection like this: All 4 e/s in a quad, use that over Nurture or Cuddle. Then use Comfort as an bronzer (I hope) with Candlelight or Nars Albatross as a cheek highlight and tearduct highlight.
Warm Me up l/g with 2N l/g.

Out the door and still put together, nicely.

Oh wow, I still want everything I originally wanted, but now I also want a shadestick, or four! Not that I will be able to afford all of that so soon after Christmas, but finger's crossed I'll be getting By Candlelight MSF, Chamomile, Milled Cider and Modelette e/s, and Warm Me Up l/s. All four of the shadesticks look gorgeous but I have no idea what I'd do with them.

ETA: Does anybody know if the three eyeshadows are similar to any permanent e/s?

I was thinking that Milled Cider might be similar to Swiss Chocolate but after seeing Karla's swatches it looks lighter.

Shadesticks are used as bases under your eyeshadow to make them stick better and last all day, to help bring out color or intensify the color of what you putting over it.
You can also use shadesticks as undereye liner, also they can be used alone as eyeshadow (that is what the mac website states, it is for shadow or liner)

Im definately getting the two darker shadesticks (relaxed and warm&cozy). i dont see myself using cuddle, and i have shimmersand already so i dont need nurture.

The only other thing im getting is Warm Me Up Lipstick. OMG ive been looking for my perfect "90's era mid-toned brownish-pink full covergage lipstick" for ages. This is gonna look so amazing over Spice lipliner!

Do they blend easily into each other? I would consider using them as eyeshadows if they did, but they're just too pretty to be bought as bases alone, or do they perform better than paintpots? ATM I only use UDPP, so have no thoughts on using either paintpots or shadesticks as a base.

i don't think shadesticks blend that well into each other so i wouldn't use them as shadows. paint pots are better for using as shadows and bases

I was soo excited to see the swatches! Now I have my list.. I've written down more things than I originally thought I'd want!

By Candlelight MSF
Warm and Cozy shadestick
Warm Me Up lipstick
Modelette eyeshadow
and maybe...
Chamomile & Milled Cider eyeshadows

This collection looks really pretty and wearable too! The reviewers said the satins feel like matte squareds to I'm really looking forward to that!!

The lipglasses look really pretty but I've realised I just HAVE TOO MANY! And I have never finished a single one so I'm banning myself buying those for now... I wish I had the same self-control for the other products though lol. :p

Thanks, I think that despite how pretty they are I'll stick with my original wishlist, I even skipped Prive so that I wouldn't feel guilty for splurging on W&C

Hey ladies! I feel like I haven't posted in forever.

Anyway, gotta love KarlaSugar and her swatches. It helped me make my final decision. So here goes:

-Chamomille, Modelette, and Milled Cider shadows (I have embark and I hate it, by the way)

-Spiced Tea and Warm me Up lipstick

-3N and Light That Fire lipglass

I'm skipping the shadesticks now. I bought a couple from sugar sweet and I had to return them because they just aren't smooth enough to apply. I can find shadows of similar colors. I can't seriously buy these hoping they'll be like greasepaint sticks, because I know they're not.

I have no use for lip conditioners and I am allergic to minerals so none of those pretty skinfinishes for me.
