'My Space' hoax ends with suicide....

I also want to say (before anyone implies it) that this girl didn't deserve to be teased, she didn't allow herself to be teased, and she didn't ask to be teased. She didn't deserve to have an adult manipulate her, she didn't deserve to have girls and boys gang up on her. She didn't deserve to have girls who were taught by their mothers to be the ones doing the teasing make fun of her, and she certainly didn't deserve to be goaded like she was, especially by people who knew her and knew her history.

Lori Drew told police she feels less guilty about Megan's suicide because she had a history of a suicide attempt. That should make Lori Drew feel MORE guilty, because she created that profile and said those things to that little girl with full malice, intent, and forethought, knowing her weaknesses.

Megan didn't deserve any of that, and anyone who implies she did is as much a monster as the woman who created the profile.

that women should be drawn and quartered for what she did...at the very lest her own daughter should be removed from her care people like that should not be allowed to have children

The people who did that should honestly have their kid taken away. If they're messing up someone else's child enough that they kill themselves what the hell are they doing to their own kids... It makes you think.

Why would you toy with a 13 year old's emotions like that? I remember being 13 like it was yesterday, how insecure I was and how I was was hurt by every little thing. They had to have known what they were doing. You don't try to skrew over someone that bad without knowing that something bad will happen.

But it's good that they're now publishing the other family's names. Even if the law can't do anything I'm sure people will take it into their own hands. It looks like they're already starting to.

It's so sad how this divided the parents, especially since they have another child.

While I like that life is biting them in the ass, I just hope that the vigilante justice doesn't go too far. Shun them, boycott (and encourage boycotting) their business, but the last thing I want to see is those losers have something happen to them where they're treated like victims and/or financially compensated.

sad, but the article reads like a really bad fiction short story.

To be honest if it ends in violence I could care less. Look at how it ended for the other family. These people were playing a deadly game, and far worse, they show no remorse. I'm certainly not the one who is going to go out and physically hurt them, but I will say that if something happens I am just going to look the other way and consider it justice. If anyone else wants to see them as victims after that, it's fine with me because at that point it's an eye for an eye.

this really is just the most disgusting thing. i even heard the interview with Megan's parents and they said that those people (and i think calling them that is a stretch) haven't offered any apologies. the only thing they said was that they felt the bore no responsibility.

it's good to see Megan's parents working so hard to get some legislation passed so that in the future, bullies can be held responsible for their actions.
i'm struggling to think of whether Megan's parents have a viable civil suit...freshman torts is currently running through my head - perhaps i should have paid a bit more attention, lol.

anyway...these parents better be careful the next time they go to a baseball game on free bat day. honestly...this is why you should have to pass a test to breed.

that's exactly why i was thinking Megan's parents might have some civil cause of action. she knew full well what she was doing, and what the possible results might be and went ahead and did it anyway. to me, her actions were done with malicious intent, or they were at least negligence. i really hope the prosecutor looking into this case is creative...there has got to be something these pieces of sh*t can be charged with.

Not that it matters, but she said she had a sense of relief when she found out at the funeral Megan had attempted suicide before. I mean, seriously, you mean to tell me that you had a heavy heart and conscience until someone said this was not the first time? This was a child's life. For this woman to be so malicious in her actions and callous about the result of them is unreal.

I agree. It doesn't even sound real IMO.

It doesn't sound real because most normal, stable, rational adults would never think of pushing a 13 year old girl over the edge.

But Lori Drew is none of the above.

Holy crap, ADULTS did this, PARENTS no less? They are absolutely sick, twisted people! Karma's a bitch, and I hope they get every ounce of karma that they deserve.

Honestly, I think a crime has been committed here.

I believe their business needs to be run into the ground via boycotting, and they should be run out of town, with an angry mob behind them wielding pitchforks, torches, hot tar and feathers. Even better, they should be in prison, but of course our sissy, pathetic justice system won't have any of that.
