I've got a sample

from the one for combination/oily skin in the color Sand Beige (180) and I like how it feels but its too dark for my NC15 skin.
Ivory should be a match but they only sell five shades here and of course Sand Beige is the lightest one.

Ah I love this...

I actually used it for my profile/avatar pic. My skin is oily and it looks/works great on me. I use Bare Minerals for everyday use, so breakouts aren't really an issue for that. But I did switch to MUFE...and the color is the same! Texture of color stay is a bit thicker I think... But I always use sponges, and moisten them with water So no biggie in my book. I'm thinking of going back to color stay though just for the price, and it would give more money to spend on MAC and Sephora LOL, but staying with MUFE would give me one good excuse to go to Sephora

Oh the dilema

Hi Tish,

Did you ever decide which color you prefer? I got the caramel and I love it and considering trying toast.

Ok, I've read all 8 pages and haven't seen that anyone has found a really good match for NC35? Or did I miss something? I'm think I might just have to stop by CVS today, hmmm

^^ I've heard that mixing golden beige with natural tan is pretty close. You are probably gonna have to mix to get the right shade.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

i got this today finally!!!!! i picked it up in cappuccino ( in the oily/combo formula), compared it to my studio sculpt and studio fix fluid on my hand (both in NW 45), i would say this has more of a "peachy" undertones perfect for someone inbetween NW 45 and NC 50, it match pretty well applied with my 187 with a little of the prep and prime powder and it looked flawess ( i didn't even need concealer which is a must for me). it has a "natural matte finish ( which i prefer) i can't atest to getting oily/ staying powder as i did not wear for a full day, but i like was i see so far, it came off my face and brush pretty easy with my normal cleaning products/routine. i will update in a few days after some long-term wear but i hope i end of liking this as i'm trying to save money and it id more that half the cost of mac and almost a third of the cost of MUFE and bobbi brown

Exactly. That's where this foundation has other beat. It has PEACH undertones...not pink, not yellow.

so far so good with colorstay i had on for 5 hours so far has not blotted yet, though my face feels kinda funny, not in a bad way just different

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I'm just not sure - this time of year I'm NW20 and 140 buff looked like the perfect match under incandescent light at home but not really right outdoors. Under flourescent light at work it did seem like a good match but maybe just not...uh...as uh flattering...as what I have been wearing.

Also got 250 fresh beige which seemed to have the best undertones in the store - looked too dark under incandescent light but perfect outdoors & I expect it will work well through the summer. Ok under flourescent too.

So right now I am blending the 2 but the texture right out of the bottle doesn't quite suit me - maybe I will try mixing in a bit of moisturizer & wonder what that will do to the matte finish...

I have a really hard time choosing foundation & I am quickly losing enthusiasm for this product. Maybe its just not for me.

This wouldn't come off my 187 when I tested it last week. In fact my brush cleaner refused to lather! Very strange. I thought I was going mad! I haven't used my 187 since so haven't attempted to clean it again.

As for the foundtion, it was okay. I need to test it again as I applied it in poor light. The coverage seemed very good though.

I noticed the smell too. Not necessarily off-putting, just noticeable to me.

^ thats the main problem I have with my Studio Fix makeup everywhere , I watched more reviews today, and I think I will buy it, although I really don't see the use for having 2 foundations.... is it Cappucino for NW 45 skin?

thats what i am and i got cappucino, and you can still use the studio fix lightly to set foundation, as i would not really wear it by itself if your skin is really oily cuz it seems to disappear and /or get cakey on really oily skin

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I wore this foundation yesterday for my graduation and it stayed wonderfully through the entire ceremony. I put it on around 3 and it was still there at midnight when i took it off. I did blot about 2 times but I'm oily and it's a bit of a habit to blot. I only needed it on my nose a bit though. I also liked how my face felt like nothing was on it but it felt really smooth. I am NC45 and I used the Caramel color. I felt it was the tiniest bit darker than my skin or maybe not darker but my skin is a teeny bit more yellow or golden. I'm going to try a different powder to set and that should do the trick. But I really liked this foundation. The best thing was no transfer even with my oily skin. The master's degree candidates wear these hoods over the gowns that go around the neck under the chin and my hood stayed foundation free!

It stays on most of my face, but I think maybe because I wasn't using a primer or a blot podwer but its not easy finding a foundation for my skin. I wish the MA at the MAC store would have told me that, I'm gonna have to stop going there, that isn't the first time she gave me wrong information <3

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I'm almost done with this foundation and I just love it. Bad thing is that my Sonia Kashuk stippling brush is stained and when I tried washing it with shampoo, it still has the stain on it and I washed it over and over and it would come off. I think I might end up getting either the 190 Foundation Brush or the 187 Duo Fibre Brush.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Today, I went into a different MAC store, and the MUA told me that I'm only suppose to apply foundation with a stippling brush, then whats the point of the 190?

BTW I found Cappucino, but IT WAS OPENED! GROSS, prolly someone wanted to test the colour but still who knows?
I wish Rite Aide and CVS would get like the beauty supply stores and freaking leave and open sample so ppl won't keep f****G up the stock, and making it harder for the next customer
