This makes me sad, I just started to use them and I like them a lot better than the paint pots.

Shadesticks do crease, on me at least, when it is humid. I find that UDPP and paint pots last much longer - I can get to the end of the day with them (when I wash my face) and my eyeshadow still looks the same as when I put it on. Out of all of them, I think UDPP is the most reliable on my eyelids, but unfortunately is the product that gives colors the least amount of an intensity boost.

I don't think anyone can tell you which product is BETTER - your mileage will vary depending on your skin type, the results you're looking for, and how you want to apply it (brush vs. fingers vs. UDPP's sponge applicator).

I'm very happy now that I got Silverblu shadestick!!
Maybe I'll have to go and get Lucky Jade and Sharskin while I still can...

I'm in Melbourne Australia, and a MAC ma, who seemed quite cluey told me that Shadesticks were sticking around, BUT... Paints would not be. Too many complaints, issues with the product packaging, and wastage, and they were making the most of Paint Pots.. Yet, at the same counter a few days beforehand, I had a very disinterested MA just say 'yeah, Shadesticks are going'. I don't know who to believe!

^^ That's so annoying about the paints. IMO their packaging is much better than paint pots. The tubes are much more sanitary, because the only bit that ever gets contaminated is the bit that you squeeze out. With paint pots the whole product gets exposed plus the clear jar lets the light in which is bad for preservation.

I've never had any problem with wasting my paint. The trick is that when you first use them, you squeeze them from the top so you're fingers are pressing against the hard circular bit. That gives you heaps more control so you don't waste any.

Oooh, good tip about using Paint, I'm definitely getting a few, and I know that Enkore on youtube says to put it upside down, and squeeze it a little like that, not from the side to avoid wastage.

I just hope they take a long time discontinuing Sharkskin... I can't get MAC where I live, but I already have a wishlist of Mac products I'd like to try, and one of them is sharkskin... it just seems to work sooo well and I love the fact that you don't need to get your brushes or your fingers dirty to apply them.

No, they can't do that! I can't be a rock star without sharkskin! *inserts tantrums, projectile vomiting and excessive hair tearing"

Speaking of hair tearing, panacea must be ripping her's out right now.

Don't understand why they would discon sharkskin. It's such a popular item and so much more sanitary than paint pots.

paint pots are non-aqueous, so they don't harbor bacteria. to sanitize them you just need to wipe the surface with a tissue, just like you do with powder products, and you're good to go.

Are Shadesticks really being discontinued??

I apologize immensely if this is common knowledge, but I understand MAC is phasing out the s/s collection? Are they replacing it with anything else and does anyone know when the phasing out will be finished? I am going to MAC tomorrow and wanted to grab a s/s but I might be grabbing a couple if they are d/c soon!

Re: Are Shadesticks really being discontinued??

^thanks for putting those links up. I agree this is really sad to even think about. I have many shadesticks and really like them a lot. I also love paints. I don't care too much for the new paintpots-- they seem to dry out fast even when kept closed? I don't know... sometimes "new" doesn't always = better.

Yes. They haven't been pulled from the stores yet, atleast not mine in Pasadena.
