I see that my comment hit a soft spot. And size Zero is NOT "Petite" by no means.... NOr -Zero for that fact. And if you didnt have low self esteem and was old and mature enough to not give a damn. Any comments regaurding weight should not bother you.

once agian nobody said that YOU were not healthy...... Or YOU look emaciated..... Or YOU need to gain weight........ If YOU dont look like the pics i posted which IMO are sickly thin then NONE of my Comments should Offend u.

Not saying this to be insulting, but you really have to walk a mile in her shoes before you can understand why both her and I react like this. Want it on it's most basic level? Were over it. There are only so many times you can get talked down too, right to your face, before you really start to get burnt out on the whole issue.

I dont make my weight an issue, bring it up, brag about it, or generally really think about it AT ALL when I'm out and about doing my thing. I'm willing to bet little teaser is the same way. Other people however, quite often, seem to think it's ok for them to make my weight, their issue.

Want another totally random scenario? Clothes shopping, conversation involves the sales girl, and myself. I ask her if 1 is the smallest size that they have, because it's too large on me. She replies that that's the smallest size that they have in stock. Enter complete stranger who was shopping near us and overheard the conversation between the sales girl and myself exclaiming about how hard it must be to not be able to find clothes small enough to fit you. *insert sarcastic tone of voice here*

The stuff above happens all the time in one variation or another. People make my weight their business. I dont care how thick of skin you have, after a while it wears on you. Because all of the catty women who aren't size zero's or smaller, and are resentful that the media keeps telling them they should be, feel they have a right to take it out on me. And are ok about doing it because, "OMG your so lucky your so tiny! I wish I had your problems with not being able to find small clothing, Blah blah blah blah."

Even if it's not meant to be mean, wouldn't you get tired of hearing about it after a while if the FIRST thing people talk about when they meet you is how small you are? Just like you think your more than the tag on your jeans, so are we. Ours just happens to be 0, or 00, depending on brand.

It kind of scares me when people make statements like "Everyone wants to look like those models or be a size 0."

I love blanket statements, they keep you warm and cozy at night.

You know what? It scares me that youseem to think that every skinny person is immature, childish, and has low selfesteem. That somehow having a young looking body means that my mind must be young as well.

Please. I guarentee you that if I choose to be, I can be every bit as adult as any of the women on these boards. However, as I do that from 8-5pm every day dealing with clients who demand that sort of attitude, else they take their business elsewhere. I think I can be a little more informal when I'm posting here. And when it's hundreds of thousands of dollars, I guarentee, using phrases such as, "Like, umm, and OMG!!!! Aren't anywhere near my vocabulary. It is possible you know, to completely change your slang, dialect, vocabulary on a case by case basis. Just takes a teenage mentality, I promise.

I never said it did. However, since you dont need to present a diploma from harvard to post on these forums, and we are afterall in the, "Chatter section" there is no grammar requirement.

RaeRae this conversation has swayed from area to area things have been misinterpreted, distorted.

Leaving all that aside I just wanted to say I understand what you are saying, you are small, you are healthy, you have a low BMI, you are sick of being hacked on in public due to other people’s perceptions of you.

Of course when the subject of "Banning models from strutting their stuff on stage due to their low BMI" comes up you are going to be offended

This rule is a Catch 22 cause while trying to weed out the models who mistreat their bodies (and these people are ill - they need help) It's also discriminating against people of your structure who are healthy, eat well and still don't meet the benchmarks. And you, rightly so have had enough of being sh*t on

You are sticking up for you and yours. That's cool and I'm glad you never waiver in your argument. Minorities ALWAYS need this kind of support, no matter who they are or what their story is.

I also agree with being able to write what you like without checking and re-checking for spelling, grammar etc. Hey no one is perfect, everyone f*cks up these little things every now and then and who ever proclaims they don't.. wait till you get caught out. Down with the Spelling-Police! Only second to those of the Fun-Brigade - lighten up! There are more important things to be concerned about.

It's a internet thread, there more like windy mountain roads, than strait lines hehe... Un-less you want to strictly moderate them... Which takes away most of the fun from posting in discussions.

Oh.. One thing I forgot to ask...

To all the people who are more than their jean size. If your so turned off by thin models on the runway, and so secure about your personal weight and size. Why does it matter to you what size model a designer uses to show off their clothing? If it's not effecting your self esteem and self perception and your personal interpretation of what beauty is, why do you care?

raerae after reading all the post in this thread i have to give credit wheres it's due i have the upmost respect for you to not be weak and brown nose to score specktra points i think people are in deniel when they say NO ONE finds skinny models or people attractive because reality those people are attractive and what sales or there wouldnt be requirements in the fashion world or hollywood to be thin it's what they want and i hate to give this BRAKING NEWS but thats what most men want to all the guys i talk to said they like thin petite woman and are not as attracted to there wife after haveing kids and leting there self go and yea we may not fit into the normal look anymore because america has become obest and that is a proven fact so inorder to justify and make there self feel better they want to say being thin isnt healthy or look good but i guess the ones pointing the finger would quickly give that index finger up to be thin and desired

honey this is not thin....this is sick....... And these are the types of models we are taking about... i understand not all models look like this.
But when it comes down to it pretty soon all the models will look like the these 2 ladies in the pic.. b/c the designers have a vision on how they think their lines should look on ppl... or to be displayed if thats the case.. use a coat rack or even a mannequin. And it matters becuase if these models keep on they will die. and we keep on b/c young girls think thats what being beautiful is... Example: lets say you personally know someone that looks like this or sickly thin.. and you know that its not due to being healthy or naturally thin.. (would you turn your backand look the other way) or would you say something? you have to ask yourself that. (I am a human being thats all i have to say.. i tend not to look away on any matter when i know someones health of life is at risk." I understand beauty is in the eye of the beholder but (dayum) not when you're risking you're health. Once again nothing wong with being healthy and thin.. Or aA size 0 or 00 or -0 or -00. just as long as you're healthy.

You might be right on ( America has become Obest) But you're deffinently wrong on (Most Men are attracted to petite ladies and is not as attracted to thier wives part after having kids) Im sure its only a hand full of men you asked that question to...

There are plenty of men out there that loves their wives just the way they are.. And really if that was the case.. (these husbands not being attractive to thier wives b/c of thier weight.... (why are they still with them consdiering if they are) Ha and then you have some men that prefer bigger ladies and think that it sexy and attractive.

Actually I do know people who look like that. Both on-line and off. And realistically, you or I really dont have anything to do with it, and wont be able to help them. They have to help themselves.

Severe anarexia is a problem, and I dont think a designers clothing line really has much to do with that. The girls who choose to do that to themselves have their own personal reasons for doing so. I think we can both agree that that type of look isn't attractive. However, ana girls obviously do.

A neighbor at my parents house, her daughter is on that road. She's already been in the hospital a few times because of it. They have spent well over $60,000 trying to treat the issue. To what end? She lives in a little trailer by herself, paid for by her parents. She doesn't work, has 0 friends, and really doesn't do much of anything.

But personally, I think people who dont have anarexia, who try to treat anarexics, are treating the wrong things. All they do by trying to help, is make the person they love and care about sicker. Now thats imho a catch 22. But I think it's because they treat the wrong things. Society also is trying to treat the wrong things to help these girls. Trust me, telling girls like that, thay they can't work isn't going to suddenyl make them wanna gain weight to participate. If anything it will make them want to lose more. The more you tell an Anarexic that she will look better by gaining weight, the more weight she will lose.

Ic... once again we are talking about emaciated looking models... ive said time and time again nothing wrong with being thin, skinny size 0 or 00 or whatever. I do undertsand some ppl are naturally thin and thats alright. And yes i also think that comment about the crackers might have been a bit sarcastic... but i dont think it was directed twards you. SHe was just generally speaking.
