Just called selfridges and there's no record of a planned change to the current chanel make up collection on the website for today, and no planned change for next week. Tired to speak to Chanel counter in selfridges London, and can't get through! I may cry :(

I was wondering if anyone has compared the new Chanel Illusion D'Ombre shadows to Armani ETK shadows. I was debating about taking the plunge for some ETK, and then the new Chanel shadows showed up. Anyone been able to compare these two products?

I can compare them for you! I have Armani ETK in #4 Noka and Chanel in Illusiore. The texture is definately different, ETK is a denser more compact cream shadow. Chanel is fluffed or spongy. You can actually see the spongieness of the Chanel when you use the brush on it. But once on I don't find a difference. Both of my shades have a high shimmer and can be sheared out if you wish. The colors are close too, the Armani leaning to the gray side, the Chanel to the taupe. The difference is a little more noticable IRL. Though the jars are different sizes, both contain 4g / .14 oz off product. I don't have a favorite, I would buy either on again!

Sorry to disappoint you girls, but I don't think the Byzance collection is ever going to be sold online. It says here the Byzance collection will be available at Selfridges London Beauty Hall so I believe it will only be available at the London Beauty Hall and nowhere else.

^^ One thing we've noticed is that Chanel are pretty cagey when it comes to product availability - it's probably part of their plan, but generally ANYTHING we find is unreliable until we either see it or we don't. Fortunately many of us are stalkers, so I'm sure once it's spotted we'll all be 'lemmings'!

yeah i actually just read that on the site. that's pretty dissapointing to me to be honest. i shall give them a call later and hope they are still open. i can't call while at work because i know the minute i go on the phone people will want me. at least on a website i can dip in and out in between customers!

neicyk13 on MUA posted this about Prelude and I thought it was a great description:

"I want to give my take on Prelude. In the pan or even swatched they are ok. I was even a little meh, untill I put it on my eyes!
I have been wearing this a lot. It is a cooler version of Beiges de Chanel.
It makes the perfect greige / grey smokey eye
It has no color to it. just the grey/ greige. I love that! Most of my smokey quads are plummy taupe, blue, green etc. This is a real nuetral no color eye palette. Pure grey and greiges! I think is a must have as it is no color and just variations of a shadow.
Perfect. Also sinse this is devoid of color. I can wear any lip and cheek this.Red, pink, peach, bold or nude lips. Great palette!

People used to bright colors will probally not like it. I should of put it away untill fall and wore my summer colors. I just love this quad!
I have it on now with the blush and Grace lipstick from Guerlain"

Is there any chance you could take a trip to London during the weekend? Although I suppose you'd end up spending a lot more money than necessary to buy this collection.
It isn't a problem though as selfridges will provide mail order on any item instore, you just have to telephone CS. I'm just trying to get hold of selfridges London store to confirm they have it - no luck yet, just engaged or ringing off the hook - Grrrr!

winthrop - thanks for posting the description here. It sounds like I need it!

lou - hope the store has the byzance stuff for you!

MrsB - hope you can get it too!

Cafemakeup has reviewed more e/s. Epatant looks close to Lancome Erika F, which I have. Epatant just looks slightly more green.

Thank you very much for the comparison!!! I guess that which one you buy really depends on the color that you want & availability. Do they both wear the same? I have heard that ETK stay put all day. Is that also true for Chanel?
*swoons* That means it is a neutral quad that is not brown and not grey, love it. Just what I was looking for :) Come on, August, hurry up.

Well, you have exquisite Chanel SA hands hand-packing and wrapping your stuff. They'll wear of their expensive Chanel polish and might even break a nail. That has a price, my dear :winkiss:
