I rec'd my order today and thought I would share some pics!

Illusiore & Emerveille

I used both shadows on my eyes and used Illusiore as the liner.

Thanks for the great swatches! Enjoy your new makeup! Is Prelude like Stupendous or Mystic Eyes, without the shimmers? I don't have Dunes, Dumure, Stupendous or Beiges de Chanel. It's a sign I need Prelude.
You and me both :) Epatant looks great. Thanks for all the swatches. Shonaty, is Sari Dore more pink or more orange/coral?
More coral/orange. I don't see any pink in it.
thanks, on my monitor it was flashing a bit pink. Easy skip for me then.
I agree with shontay, Sari Dore is orange, no pink. I have no guts to wear it but I can wear Sari D'eau RCS.

From the gel e/s, I want Ebloui, Epatant and Illusoire. Since they are perm, I plan to buy 1 and see if the texture works for me, before picking up 2 more. But it is difficult to pick which will be the first. The lipglosses review is up on Sabrina's. My counter has never receieved any of the Rouge double intensite, so I don't think I'll get it this time. It seems to be banned to my country. I'm going to pass both glossimers. Her swatch of Sparks remind me of the holiday lips set - I want it!

Swatches of the gel e/s are up on Cafemakeup. They are beautiful as usual.
Well, I should stay away from those colours, I got Hibiscus and while I love it, it's hard for me to wear. I even tried it with Melon on the eyes and a dark winged eyeliner and it was just doh. Warm colours are so tricky, but I still have a lot of them :\ Great to hear the eye colours are perm, but I am still only interested in one, Epatant. Soo happy CM is back :)

I second MissQQ's questions about how the quad compares to other Chanel "neutral" quads!

Prelude is - on my eyes - a soft taupey-grey quad, emphasis on the grey (neutral-cool). On me it is very different from any of the ones Miss QQ mentioned and from any others I can think of. It feels very fall. The colors look different on my eyes than on my arm, so I really agree with Sabrina that it's one that needs to be tried on. The second lightest color is a bit of a pain pigment-wise (or maybe it's just that it blends into my skintone, I'm not sure yet) but the rest are fine, and the 2 darkest colors in particular are fantastic. Hope this helps a little till you can try it.

The review of Fantasme on cafemakeup has me wanting it again. Now I want 4 of the e/s!

winthrop - thanks for your description of Prelude. I'm pleased to know it is cool-toned.

Thanks for the comparison! I thought it looked very fall-ish as well. I'm not sure on it, while I seriously love taupe-y grey shades (my house is full of it!), these types of shades can look really dull and ruddy on me. It's always hit and miss and I need a decent amount of liner to pull it off. If it's permanent, I will try it once the cooler weather actually arrives!

^^ I'm with you, those shades are a hit or miss on me too. Although I love these shades, not all of them love me back.

Now I'm going to put these away until fall, I'm still enjoying the summer collection! But there's a voice in my head saying "Get the Prelude quad", dang it!

Thank you for the pics, abbygal! Gorgeous! I'm definitely getting Illisiore - and maybe the burgundy one (Em-something) - these look great - and I'm glad they're perm!!! Now I just have to pull the trigger on my shopping cart....still waiting for Nordies to post them though.....

Thanks elegant -- the bulkiness was exactly what I'd always wondered about when I saw it on strawberrynet!
I'm so sorry - I just saw this!

Its so trim & lightweight - just a tad over 1/4 in thickness closed & about 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 square. Its really perfectly sized

I can't wait to order my items from the Byzance collection tomorrow! Why do I have a feeling somethings going to go wrong...

So I have decided on the quad and the JC, and Quartz. Passing on the eye shadows for now - may try to get a sample to try them out first, but since they're perm, I can wait. I'm skipping Khaki Platine for now as well......so this will be a 'cheap' Chanel spend relatively speaking.

Still have to pick up another Joyeuse! Nora, I'm so glad you're loving the quad! I really like it and didn't find it to be like any of my others, but like you, I'm not ready to break it out just yet! I'm glad you got moved to the window - and I'm hoping you can get rid of snotty Dotty sometime soon!!

Bad news: I think I had a funny reaction to Epatant. I wore it today and it made my eyes feel...sore, I guess. It was weird. It was a kind of stinging that wasn't excruciating, but it was still uncomfortable. I am sending it back with the liner. It's all packed up and ready to go. On the upside, I did a look with Lilium last night and I didn't want to take it off because it's so pretty.

Oh that's a bummer Shontay. Did you look at the ingredients by any chance? I wonder if they contain bismuth oxychloride. Do you know if you have problems with that? On the brighter side, I'm glad you love Lilium. I do too.

EDit: Just saw that Amy at Cafe makeup added the ingredients to her overview post. They "may contain" bismuth oxychloride:

Ingredient list (from Mirifique): Isododecane, polysilicone-11, calcium sodium borosilicate, talc, polymethysilsesquioxane, petrolatum, butyl acrylate/hydroxypropyl, dimethicone acrylate copolymer, phenoxyethanol, tin oxide, silica [+- (may contain) CI 75470 (carmine), CI 7707 (ultramarines), CI 77163 (bismuth oxychloride), CI 77288 (chromium oxide greens), CI 77289 (chromium hydroxide green), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides), CI 77510 (ferric ferrocyanide), CI 77742 (manganese violet), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), mica]
Hmmm. I may have the same problem then.

No, I didn't even think to look at the ingredients. It's possible that bismuth oxychloride may be in it. Isn't that in Bare Escentuals? I know I can't wear that stuff.

Yes, and that's how I realized I had a problem with it too, although it was Jane Iredale for me and it was an itching/stinging/prickly kind of feeling. See above for ingredients in the e/s. I think BE and JI took it out more recently, or at least offer some products without it, but for mineral makeup I love Alima, which never had it. I don't wear MMU anymore tho. From what I've been able to figure out I can get away with a little bismuth so it's a concentration thing for me anyway.

Since bismuth is listed as a "may contain" ingredient in these maybe some shades have more than others and some have none at all. Bismuth supposedly provides an iridescent effect and Epatant looked like one of the most iridescent, so if that was your problem you might still be able to wear one of the less iridescent ones like Ebloui or Emerveille?

I was wondering if anyone has compared the new Chanel Illusion D'Ombre shadows to Armani ETK shadows. I was debating about taking the plunge for some ETK, and then the new Chanel shadows showed up. Anyone been able to compare these two products?
