Can anyone recommend a brush to use with the fluidlines for someone who is new to gel/liquid liner? I was thinking about the 263 as I don't want anything too thick! I'm so excited for Avenue :)
I recommend you the 211 brush! I'm new with gel/liquid liners too! I bought my first fluidlines Avenue and Dark Envy and 211 brush. Have used the brush twice and I really like it, you can do a thin or thick line depends on the pressure you apply. Also for me is easier than the 266 angle liner brush.

266 is very good for fluidlines, but if you like winged eyeliner, and very precise 210 will be much better

I am desperately staying away from all the hype of this as it's just really bad timing as I go away so close to release day but things are looking very good! Happy hauling UK ladies :)

I stopped my MAC counter 8/25 and did a makeover at lunchtime. Kind of excited because other than a few odds and ends, this was my first haul in a year. My counter didn't get the pink blush and a few of the lipglosses that were supposed to come with the collection. As a matter of fact, they only got FIVE Runaway Reds. I picked up:

-Runaway Red
-Social Light l/g (Love this)
-Teddy
-Offshoot l/g
-Mythical e/s
-the beigy/purple shadestick

My MA was supersweet and very helpful with tips. I hope to go get the Dark Diversion fluidline next week :)

I used to use that one, but it was hard to get a good, even line on both eyes for me with that one. My personal favorite is the 210, since I don't have a ton of eyelid real estate and needed something with the most control for the outer wing, but 211 is the way to go for the most versatile thick or thin line.

From what I've figured out, the 263 is thinner than the 266 and the 208 has coarser bristles!

263 is synthetic but almost identical to the 266. The other 2 are natural. 208 is quite a bit smaller and coarser. Both synthetic and natural brushes work well with fluidlines. I think it depends on how you want to apply your liner and just your personal preference. If you want to be able to apply liner in a variety of ways then the 266 would be my pick as the most versatile. You can do thick or thin, tightline, wing, smudgey, etc. It might not be the best brush for some of those applications but it does them all well and it also works with powders (wet or dry) and as a brow brush.

Bought all 5 shadesticks from this collection and both blushers.

Skipped the quads as I am not into smokey sorta colors and dark lip colors... but i might be going back for the fluidlines. Had a budget as I also splurged on 4 duos from colorizations, 3 refill from cinematics and 4 pro longwear e/s and had not much money left for other stuff from MMO. I personally tot all the shadesticks were lovely and wearable on a daily basis. Love them

I played with my shadesticks today and I gotta say, overall I am disappointed. Heirloom and Cakeshop are duds. Heirloom took a lot of work for it to show and even then it was patchy. It was mostly shimmer. Cakeshop was even worse. I knew better, but I allowed myself to be enabled on that one in hopes that it would be better than the last time I tried it. I'm sad about Heirloom, though because it swatches so beautifully. Guess it wasn't made for my dark skin. The only bright spot is Street Cool. I effin' love this thing! So gorgeous, glides on effortlessly and opaque. Kinda reminded me of a GPS for a moment. A serious winner. Another plus is after I wiped it off, it didn't leave anything behind. Cakeshop and Heirloom both left shimmer all over my eye. So, if I had kept to my gut instincts, I would've just had Creamy Bisque and Street Cool and i would've been a happy camper. Instead, I was enabled and bought Outre, Cakeshop and Heirloom. All of which suck. :getyou:

Personally I use Bobbi Brown's Ultra Fine Eyeliner brush. It is similar to the 211 looks but looks a bit shorter. If you shop with QVC, they do a kit on there for Bobbi's gel liners in different colour choices and you get 2 gel liners and for the price of the postage you get the brush (which retails at £21) and a mini mascara! I've bought 3 different options of that kit before so now have 3 of the brushes and it is fantastic.

So I'm reading the boards and I hear Runaway Red is fab, so I went to check it out.

OMG, its true!!!!! Runaway Red is the most perfect red that MAC has ever made. Its perfect against my brown skin!!!. Most reds I have to work with, they are too brown, too bright, too orange. Runaway red has the best coloring and its smooth and goes on beautifully. I don't need a liner and it wears very well. I know I am going to have to get another before the collection is through. I've finally found my go to red! Its been a long time coming. I highly suggest it, especially for the brown girls. Its amazing!

As far as the 226, I almost brought another one, and stopped myself. Really the one I have works fine and unless MAC is going to make it perm, I am going to boycott it. Sick of LE brushes. Brushes are tools and this one has been tried and true as far as being a MAC customer favorite.. I am not giving into the hype this time. If you don't have it, you need it though, lol

My favorite lip look is Secret Lover with Social Light on top.. I've already received quite a few compliments on the combo!

The Nordies MA used this combo on me w/Spice l/p today. Love this look.

She also used Stunner blush over Seaside CCB and Stunner showed up well on my NC 37 skintone.
