No, I don't think so.
Yeah, their v different, I don't know why I thought they might be similar. I guess cause I'm still hopelessly waiting for it to be re promoted. So I went on MAC chat and she said she doesn't seem Cyndi lipstick being repromoted at least not for the next couple of months and suggested I try hot Tahiti. Anyway, this has nothing to do with Archie's Girls anymore so I'll stop now lol

I always like that T is honest, there are some other bloggers who will post swatches that you can just tell the product is horrible, yet they will still say oh yeah, it's a good product...screw that, be honest no matter who gets angry about it. MAC's quality has went down, at least with powder products, but I still love MAC. And I don't get why people are complaining about what comments T approves...she seems to approve them all. I often see comments on there of people even bashing her and she leaves them there. But T has never bashed MAC or given any hint that she dislikes them, so I don't get why people keep saying "well if she hates them so much..." So really, if a person doesn't like honest reviews, don't read her site...go to one of the sites that pretends that every product is great no matter what the truth really is.

It's like this. T got in on the ground floor of everyday people being able to have a voice in the beauty community. She was able to transform what was a hobby into something that's now pretty much a career. She runs the site because she knows her audience isn't looking for beauty pics, but sort of cold hard reviews. I think everyone loves MAC to some degree, you wouldn't put the time into anything (making a screen name, making a website, visiting a forum, looking for swatches) if you didn't. That being said we're all also in different stages of our makeup love. I feel like - cute packaging, cute story lines, cute anything - don't do it for me anymore. At the end of the day however if your quality and colors aren't there, I'm not buying a single item. If it's dupe-able, rushed, poorly executed..not interested. I have fun with my makeup but at the same time I want the quality of the product to match my investment and MAC's quality, true quality, has been hit and miss. I've swatched enough on my own to know that.

And I'm gonna say one thing, and then be done. A lot of people seem to have a problem with how many negative comments she lets through, but I'd bet the rest of my college education that if she started only letting through the comments saying how wonderful everything is, then those same people would complain about how she's creating a falsely positive environment in order to attract more readers or something to that effect. Christine just can't win. Whenever I happen to read through comments, they're mostly about thanking her for taking the time to be so thorough and honest in her assessment of the products. Yes, there are those that voice their displeasure for certain things, but there are just as many saying they love a product and have to have it. It all depends on the review itself. Give the product a high grade, you'll see more positive comments. Give it a low one, and you'll see more negative comments. If YOU know you like a certain product, then don't get so riled up when someone says they don't. They're entitled to their opinion just as much as the rest of us.

You know what I do? I use her swatch gallery that's listed in the bar above all her posts and I can visually compare a lipstick I'm thinking of buying to the lipstick I believe it will look most closely to. In a lot of ways that's better for me than typical swatches. There's a lot to be said about how a lipstick looks on the lips and I like that for things MAC seems to be putting out a ton of (pink lipsticks) I'm able to gage how unique the color really is.
ya I always check her gallery but i still like when she would include dupe swatches but I guess that's why u come to Specktra! ;)

Magic spells pigment in person is gorg! A deep dark blackened teal forest green! Looks way better in person than in swatches from Muandb blog. I can skip Betty bright I've got watch me simmer and FOrce of love which are both close.if you missed those and want bright coral lips get it! Feelin so good lipglass is super dark and gothy. Strawberry malt is a bright cherry red all most flashing hot pink-ness Mall madness is a lilac tinged pink, better in person than online. Both pearl mattes were missing :( The blushes were nice, cream soda was a little chalky looking. Prom princess is lovely more of a grown up pink than dollymix.

I'm glad to hear this

I'm cool with only getting 2 items from this whole collection for the sake of the packaging and nostalgia and I figured from the Veronica side it would come down to what looked good on me. Boyfriend Stealer was a disappointment (but I'm totally looking up Faultlessly now) so I was hoping Feelin So Good would hopefully deliver. Nice. I'm pumped now.

I know I'd read on here somewhere but am having trouble finding it now, the pigments - are there any close dupe colors? I'm on the fence about those (especially the dark pair)
Later is a tad more purpley-pink, and moonlight night.
I wonder if some items will be available on line only? I pre-ordered a couple days ago at my local MAC. However they did not receive the pearlmatte powders, totes or brushes. I have checked with two other MAC stores in surrounding areas and they have not received them either. I called up someone who works for MAC in another state and they did not receive those items either.
Not all locations receive everything at the same time, nor do they receive it all in one shipment. Sometimes in it's the course of multiple shipments over multiple days/weeks, and sometimes it's not even until after the collection launches.
I wish I could tell the quality of the brush set. I've rarely wanted to pick one up until now but I know the sets are very hit-and-miss; also, machine-made, correct?
Yes, they're machine-made.
How far in advance can one usually pre-order items, I went last Sunday to my local mac pro store and they said I couldn't...sorry mac newbie here :)
Technically, the only items company-authorized for presale is the holiday collection (and the nordie's anniversary collection). The other items are at the locations discretion. We weren't allowed to presale anything other than holiday when i worked for mac.

Thank you! I will just have to keep an eye out so I could pre-order the rest.

We could probably have a whole thread devoted to T and other blogs, there is much to say and debate about. I'm just too tired to care about keeping it rolling.

I will say that I MISS KarlaSugars swatches. I know she did mostly heavy swatches (and light/ heavy for face stuff) but I found her coloring matching mine pretty closely.

So yeah... ANYWAY......

I really want the purple quad. I already have gravel though (barely use it... ha, since I forgot I even have it!) Should I bother to get it for just 3 shadows?
I am still kicking my butt about missing out on Shop & Drop Quad... so I don't want to regret it! But I don't know. I guess I should be thankful it isn't Carbon in the quad.

I agree about KarlaSugar, I really miss her swatches...I wonder why she stopped her blog.

I also miss her swatches. She was one of the best out there. And I also don't know why she stopped. :(

Funny, I was just organizing my blushes and came across my Spaced Out. I agree, it's one of the fairly unique blush shades MAC came out with. I very much doubt Cream Soda will be a thing like it.

So I should definitely swap for it? Haha sorry it is out of the Archie topic, but I am debating it since it would be for my Early Morning blush, which idk if I want to depart from.
I have heard both good and bad from Spaced Out.. some say its too orange others that its perfect!

Grrrr, the more I look at Caramel Sundae, the more I want it. D; Oh! And can anyone that sees the pigments tell me if the tops screw on or not? I swore to myself I wouldn't buy another pigment that had those stupid divets on the lips of the jars.

I say go for it if you'll get good use out of the other three shadows. Plus I really think Gravel suits this palette. It looks kinda boring in the pan but it's a great crease color for darker looks. I would totally get this palette except I want to save money. It sure is pretty to look at though
