Miss QQ, great news that you're getting the collection soon!

I called today and was told the official date is August 22. Grrr. I suspect I may get a call a little sooner than that to play with everything if the samples arrive earlier. I'm suprised that we're getting it so much later than everywhere else. Oh well, more time to save a bit!

A part of me wishes I made an effort to get the Topkapi quad, but I suppose it's just as well that I didn't have access to it...

I finally got to see/swatch the Autumn 2011 collection. It's a split for me. I reviewed my hits and misses on my blog. The jury is still out for the cream shadows. They are glittery AS HELL but I actually see how they can work. I'll have to take it slow.

Nora - Hope you get to see them earlier. 22 Aug is quite late, although it is closer to the actual fall season. Sorry you can't get Topkapi. I get what you mean, sometimes I feel that since it's not meant to be, then it's all right not to have it, and I can save money! :)

Ingenue - Thanks for your great review! I want all three nps after reading it but I told myself to stop buying so many nps. I will see if they scream "take me home" to me when I see them. Since Quartz is perm, I may just wait and get the other two first.

Have any of you heard of Jill Stuart makeup? JS has the e/s jelly, which are very glittery and comes in all colours, from dark and pigmented ones to sheer, brightening ones. On the finger, it feels like jelly and when you apply on your lids, it feels very light but smooth to blend. But it is very glittery! I have 2 of them, a dark blue and a bronze brown and I'll be comparing these with the chanel. I'm also not a fan of the floral scent JS put in all their products, even these jelly.

This is how they look like.

You're welcome Miss QQ. Thanks for reading the blog! I just put up my first review on one of the cream shadows. I'm going to do them one at a time because I want to compare them to the Armani ETK's .. one by one.

I've seen some flat GO BUY THESE RIGHT NOW endorsements, which I think are terribly irresponsible. They are way too expensive to be telling folks to just go spend their money all willy nilly. Uncool.

I love the idea of those Jill Stuart shadows. They're glittery, but look subtle in the picture. I'd have to play with them in person to get a full understanding of them.

For now, Armani Eyes To Kill is the best version of these 'creaseless cream shadows'. Armani wins, hands down. Chanel has had more than enough time to get this right... since they are coming out with formulations after the fact. They should have used that time more wisely.

Your swatch of Myrify (can't spell all the difficult names) is so good, I can see what you mean by it being a total glitter bomb. Look forward to reviews of other colours. I will buy one to try it first. I hope they don't give me any skin irritation. The glitters in Js jelly are larger but not as many I think, from the pics I've seen of Chanel.

It's going to take me a minute, but I'll get them one by one. The one in Mirifique is the only one that doesn't remind me of any of the Armani shadows. What I notice is that Chanel went 'silver' with the glitter, while Armani stayed gold. I'm going to compare the two as I get them.

Me too! I think I'm only going to get two, Emerveille and Ebloui maybe just one to begin with though :)

I hate to say this, but I am returning my Chanel cream shadows - I would rather have the Armani ETKI.....I can almost get 4 of them for the price of the 3 Chanel that I have....and I'm just not loving how they go on.....who knows, I may end up going back for them, but I just don't love them enough to keep them, especially at that price.

aww that's a shame! but if you're not a fan it would be silly to keep them :)

I agree. I DO like the idea of using them over powder... like you would do a loose glitter, but with no fallout and more staying power. But at that price, it would be nice if they performed properly on their own.

I'm always kinda glad we get collections so late! Gives you a chance to get all the reviews and opinions of everyone!

What are the problems people seem to be having with the gel eyeshadows? I was going to pick up Emerveille, but I think I've managed to narrow down my list to Khaki Platine (I missed out on the rose one from summer) and Graphite.

Cheryl - disappointing to hear that the cream e/s didn't meet your expectations, but it's a good decision to stick with the Armani that works for you and is cheaper too. Yesterday at the makeup studio, I chatted with the MA briefly about the fall collection and she said they will not crease and emphasize that they are glittery, which is the main selling point. She seems to like the peach and the black. Are the texture and pigmentation of the cream shadows like the spring quint? I have trouble getting good colour payoff from the quint using brushes, but I haven't try my fingers which can be difficult because my eyes are small, or try the sponge tips. So i dont reach for the quint often. I was browsing the web on fall makeup and many Japanese high end brands are launching the cream shadows too, some in a stack of two pots where one is a cream and one is a loose e/s.

I can't comment on the cream shadows, but I'm curious as well. But I will say don't give up on the quint! I've found you need to first scrape the top layer off (when new). For whatever reason, I got zero payoff from the top layer. Second, try using a fluffier brush and pat the colour on the lid. I can't pick up any colour with my MAC 239, but using my cheap manicare eyeshadow brush I have no problems. :)

IMO ever since Debenhams started to sell MAC they've become stingy with the offers!

[/quote] Oh no, at least you can return them. Did you think them too glittery? I saw Ingenues post about them and was rather turned off by what I saw. Epantant or Illusoire are all I am willing to look at and will only take them if I can wear them to the office as well. Btw, has anyone tried L'Oreals version of the Armani ETK?
