like goink said above, the collection is way awesome in person! everything is so pretty! i got to my store at around 10:15--they open at 10. only 2 guys were working & there was one other girl in the store (who was buying the WHOLE collection--LUCKY!) i held off on a few things because i'm going back friday to get my fafi makeup done & will probably pick up more stuff then, but today i got:

fafi eyes 2
cash flow pp
not so innocent l/s
sugar trance l/g
totally it l/g

i must sayyy, i didn't like "not so innocent" at first because it was just sparkly with not too much color, but after putting "sugar trance" over it and checking out for a little while, i reallyyy LOOVE IT! it's shiny, neutral and sexy! really awesome with smokey eyes. i b2m'd 2 of the lipglasses so i saved $$ and only spend $60! MIRACLE!

i have hipness blush & nice vice pp on hold for friday.. i'll post pics when i get my makeup done!

Ok, now you make me want to go get Not So Innocent. I was afraid it wouldn't show up on my lips either, and I have so many sheer beigey colors.

BTW, I love reading your posts...your comments are just so charming & real

Awww you're so sweet! Thank you

I felt the same way...I got lipsticks 1N-4N from the N collection, and once I ordered Not So Innocent I was regretting it (how many nudes can you have). I FORGOT: Don't go by the swatches on the back of your hand! I did the same thing and I was so upset that I didn't see anything. Once I put it on my lips I saw the color. Its still very light, I kept seeing the ivory and pink tones in it. The Live Chat MA I talked to last night told me to try it with Creme O Spice lipliner for some more color---loved it!

Hmmm...I'm just going to go on a limb and say medium pigmented? i know they aren't light but they definetly aren't very pigmented either. I think you could probably pull it off. I thought I'd have to add another color to this too, But like I said: Add Creme O Spice lipliner and I just love it. I doubt it would make you look dead or washed out (it depends on how unpigmented your lips actually are i guess) theres slight color in this but enough to make it unique

Thanks for the report. This is one of the main items I want from this collection. Maybe also Fun 'n' Sexy, and possibly Layin' Low. I'm going tomorrow afternoon with my teen daughter, we just couldn't make it today!

I hope you are still going to try out Utterly Frivolous. I am sensitive to bright/bold lip colors...whats bright for me may not be for someone else. Like i said, I loved it within 15 min. of wearing it.....its such a spring/summer color....like tropical punch lol. I can't wait to get really tan and wear this in the summer with a lot of bronzer!

Just a FYI....

Dupe Alert: Peppier (from the 2006 TECHNACOLOR collection) and Shockwave from the Fafi Eyes 2 quad are EXACTLY the same color.

I picked up:

Sugar Trance l/g
Not So Innocent l/s
Flash N Dash l/s
High Top l/s
Fafi Eyes 1
Fafi Eyes 2
Cash Flow PP
Rollickin' PP
Perky PP
Nice Vice PP
Hipness blush

I also picked up Prussian e/l, some lip liners (New Money, Mother Pearl, and some other one) and a 239 brush.

Whew. I thought I wanted more that I got from Fafi, but when I tried on some of the products, they were very meh. Girl Friendly and Layin' Low PPs just looked bo-ring.

I might order Fun N Sexy l/s because they were out at my MAC store (already!!)

Has anyone at counters got one of those white fafi bags with their purchase? I don't know if its just b/c I'm in the middle of Canada where we only have MAC counters in the Bay but I checked out Fafi yesterday, bought some stuff and just got the boring black bag. No postcards either. LOL We are deprived here!

Fashion Frenzy reminded me of a super pigmented Pink Swoon. And I'm sooooo pale (NW15) that I looked like a clown. And if I applied it with a light hand, it looked just like Pink Swoon. I passed on it.

Alright, I've been completely convinced. I'm buying High Top online, along with Sugar Trance, probably. I'm so weak. Free shipping with the MACFAFI code still on, right?

I don't think my swatches are swatch-thread worthy, but they're pretty accurate and I did promise to redo them, and I keep my silly promises, no matter how many macro shots of my own mouth I have to take! Oh, what I do for love:
-Fun 'n' Sexy
-Fun 'n' Sexy 2 (neither of them have successfully captured the fun of this color, boo)
-Flash 'n' Dash
-Utterly Frivolous

These are all on top and bottom lip, and a little bit sloppy, straight from the tube. Utterly Frivolous looks so much like my own lip color I'm a little shocked. It's really the perfect sort of accented lip product on me, you know, the one that will just boost your natural color a touch? I'm pleased as punch. Flash 'n' Dash's color reminds me a lot of fruit punch, actually.
The sentiment that this collection is so much better in person cannot be echoed enough!

I need help, ladies!

I sound so completely ridiculous, and as much as I have swooned over MAC before, I haven't purchased anything MAC on my own...

(Can you believe it?!! I'm 21 and never bought MAC!!)

I have several other products I have invested in, some cheap, some a pretty penny and have always loved makeup and all that jazz. I thought I did a great job at applying it...UNTIL I SEE HOW GREAT YOU GUYS ARE!!

Until now because I'm a die-hard FAFI fan and I am growing up in this world, and realize beauty is worth bucks. I've always used cheap makeup for the most part, stuff that I didn't care about...

Anyway, I bought the Iridescent powder in verve-acious, the hipness blush, the totally it lipglass, sugar trance lipglass, and the eye quad 2. I plan on buying more, but that's what I have to work with at the moment...

I would really appreciate it if someone will do a look for me with pics with some or all of the above.

This is ridiculous, but to make my eyeshadow bright and bold in the past, I've always wet my cheap little foam eye shadow applicator and applied...or even worse, blended and applied with my fingers...

I'm trying to apply my eye quad with a brush (I never have done this before), and to me, it seems the shadow is quite flaky. Should I use a primer or maybe buy a paint pot to make it all really stand out like it always looks on everyone else?

Your advise, pics, etc would be so helpful to me.

I really appreciate all of the information you ladies share on this forum, I have learned so much from you all, though I've only been a member a few days.

Welcome to Specktra!

For me, personally, I use Urban Decay Primer Potion as an eyeshadow primer. To make my eyeshadows appear brighter and stand out, I use Paint Pots.

A primer (or base) is very important, so that your shadow has staying power. It's also much easier to build color from a base than onto bare skin.

Good bases:

Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)
Paint Pots
Shade Sticks
Paints

Hope this helps!!

Check the New Posts link above & check out a FOTD. Then you can see make up tutorials on everything from bases to makeup application to tools used and suggestions. These are always very helpful!

Oh NO! I haven't received mine yet (hmmm...darn weather delay) i'm really hoping I like mine. Why didn't you like it on yourself...too light too dark???

I'm not exactly sure - it just looks like a too bright, wrong tone pink for me. It's probably my yellow undertones....or maybe it would look better on someone darker than I am.

I don't think the counters have the Fafi bags.. I got most of my stuff from a freestanding store and got a bag. I went to a counter for "Girl Friendly" which the store was sold out of, and got the regular black bag.. Sorry to hear that you arent near one

But as for postcards, I didnt get any either
