Thanks Cheryl, that was really helpful!

I won't try to get it then if the payoff is that bad, I don't like to build the colour forever. Money saved then (like I won't use it to some other cosmetics right away haha)! I hope the Enigma quad will be better.

you have to build and build it to see the color. The overspray apparently comes off with the first swipe. I just didn't think it was worth the money - there are other quads I'd rather have that have more bang for the buck. Just MHO.

I was dissapointed in the Button quad also... I do love the Enigma quad as well as my Khaki vert ES.. I am going to try to do a look each day of the coming week with these colors.

I also us UDPP but sometimes (and I think it's when I use BB eye creams), I get a glop effect and have to smudge some product off... I do wish UDPP would change their packaging though it is so inconvenient when you are getting down past the middle

of the bottle.. I actually took a saw to one bottle to have easier access.. it made the rest of the product dry up tho

Yes, the packaging is very annoying. I think there is a tut about getting the remainder of the product out - I'm almost at that point, and plan to saw mine in half too
th_LMAO.gif
but store the rest in a little screw-top jar. Probably not the most sanitary, but it's just me using it.

I think someone on one of the other threads mentioned new packaging coming out.....they probably put the new Eden color in the same type to use the rest of them up.....

That is so sweet that your hubs is so supportive of your Chanel habit!

ETA, and they have better lasting power than many glosses out there!

iagree.gif
I only have a very few from other brands!! Chanel glosses are my fave!! Besides, given the amount of product and quality you get, it's a good deal, IMO.

Spent the afternoon with my baby girl (well she's 4, but still my baby!). We went by MAC & Sephora, i had to return an MB to MAC and picked up Gingerly (inspired by Kim Kardashian's look) and then onto Sephora to get NARS' gloss in Turkish Delight (again, part of her look!). Also picked up the UD e/s primer, never tried it before, but my Benefit fy eye after 10 years is no longer working as well, I've had some major creasing issues
ssad.gif
so I'm going to give UD's a try. For those who have tried both, do you prefer UD or Too Faced shadow insurance? So while i didn't spend much, still shouldn't really be make-up shopping, but oh well! And I still ended up forgetting to get some eye mu remover and mascara (but those are necessities, so they don't count!). Still waiting for August 9th... *taps fingers impatiently*.

I'm glad you got int some good shopping time! Gotta start showing our girls "the ropes" of makeup early on!
cutey.gif

Are you loving Gingerly blush? I also love Turkish Delight. I've worn it over Angel l/s (a la Kardashian style) and it's a great combo!
I really like UDPP -- it goes on so smooth. I use MAC Painterly and it really makes my shadow stay -- although it is much thicker and not as smooth. I've never tried the Too Faced -- might have to give that a try!

They should just put the UDPP in a little jar like Paint Pots -- so much easier to just use a little spatula and get product out!

Eugenia -- yes our husbands are all so sweet! I love that they are okay with us buying makeup at Chanel prices!

I actually had Turkish delight years ago, and I'm not sure what I ended up doing with it! As mentioned already by HerGreyness, Gingerly is a blush, a sheertone.

Do you find the eye primers too drying?

Ya, my daughter's definitely learning at a young age! She was applying Cheeky Bronze MSF on her cheeks today with the 168!

I haven't tried Gingerly yet, will let you know what I think when I do. It had good reviews on MUA though! I don't have Angel anymore, I've replaced it with Creme Cup, so I'll have to try TD over it.

Wish my husband was okay with my buying mu at any price! He doesn't think I need anymore of it!

I was actually thinking about it because I wanted a non-matte neutral quad...until I swatched it. The payoff is poor, and even when I layered the swatches 3-4 times the colors weren't what I wanted them to be. I was able to find a new Dior Iridescent Leather quint instead and I'm flipping out over it...it's awesome!

ITA!!! The Enigma quad is incredible! The payoff is great and the colors are complex and smokey and easy to work with. It's already made the "short list" and coming with me to Vegas when we go in October. Love it!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I have Iridescent Leather and the texture and colour payoff is very good. I wish it would be less warm on me though. It tends to lean a little bit warm.

All the raves about Enigma is making my wait for the launch seem even longer. Finally, I think next weekend the collection will be launched!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Ooo I googled the Dior Iridescent Leather Quint, is that part of the fall collection? It looks gorgeous.. but are the colours not too similar?

This is my Chanel shortlist:
-Pink Explosion Joues Contraste..I want this one, but I know the other two are likely going to look better on me.
-Enigma Quad (PUMPED!)
-Pink Teaser Glossimer (One of the few pinks that will not look horrendous on me...I think)

Do you think I should get the Khaki Vert e/s + the quad? :S

Is the Venus Glossimer a limited edition product?

I swatched Vert Khaki a few posts back - it's quite different from the 'similar' MAC colors Mink & Sable and Sumptuous Olive - it's much more gold/brown and very pretty. Many people are picking up both, VK coordinates very well with Enigma.

Venus I don't think was so much LE as just discontinued. It's still floating around several places, and you can generally find it at the online discount places.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Shypo because I know you were also in the Burberry convo.. you all should take a look at this. I wanted to decide whether to get Burberry's Khaki e/s or not and I discovered that they are pretty much dupes for one another?

Burberry:
Burberry Taupe Brown (07) Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Chanel:
Chanel Vert Khaki Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches (Fall 2010)

For my purposes I think I like Chanel's Vert Khaki because of the gold glitter, but Burberry's Taupe Brown which almost looks like club in the sense that it'll morph?

But man even the names are almost identical..not sure I'm a fan of that..

Thank you for the links! Yes, they do appear similar don't they? I had read some good reviews on the Khaki Burberry color as well - but after I had placed my order. I really like the Chanel VK better than the Burberry version, for my needs - the Burberry Khaki looks more green to me than VK actually swatches on my skintone.

Taupe Brown looks very pretty too. I think I'll try to see if I can see it in person (assuming I can get past the price-point), though - I don't think it will be a lot like Club as I think Club has more 'irridescence' to it, but it definitely looks like it would, as you say, morph, to be very versatile.

The Dior Iridescent Leather quint is actually from a while back (sometime in 2008). I don't think the colors are too similar, but they are in the same family for sure. On me, they work together really well to make a neutral but not boring eye.

I got Enigma and both single e/s from the Fall collection and I'm beyond pleased with all of them. I initially thought Vert Khaki would be a dupe for other shades I have (Mink & Sable mostly) but found them quite different (like Cheryl!). I think both singles work well with Enigma, and if you like these types of colors I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them.

I'm also gonna throw this out there...if you like taupe shadows, at least check out Taupe Grise. I LOVE taupe e/s and have a really large collection of them and this one is my new favorite! It stands out as unique even in my collection of taupe overkill. It's taupe perfection (tauperfection?).
