I hear ya on the taste of the NARS gloss, that may be why I ended up getting rid of it the first time around, I had a few of the glosses and remember them smelling a lot like plastic.

I tried Gingerly blush today (I think Michelle was wondering about this too). Seriously, it is an amazing blush!!! Looking at it in the pan, I didn't think I'd like it, but I applied it more on the contour of my cheeks and added the pink side of Hang Loose on the apples, blended and buffed and the colour was stunning! On its own, Gingerly could go a bit too warm, but there's just enough of something in it to keep it from getting too orange. Even Blushbaby gets orangey on me. Gingerly actually reminds me of a darker Instant Chic type shade. I love it when I find something from the permanent line that I never would've considered on my own and end up really liking it!

Oh, and I gotsa call from the Chanel counter...

Where to begin?? I had to "housesit for my parents at a distance" (we live in different cities

), I'm planning a home office re-do, starting to think about starting a new career, planting some new plants, getting excited since my mom brought me some bobins and supplies from Spain to start learning bobin lace, trying to catch up with my cross-stitching, solving some issues with my MIL (she's 81, with health problems and reluctant to stop living by her own), running some household errands, ...,

and complaining all the time, since it's so cloudy, rainy and cold here!! I can't remember when it was the last time I saw some sun.

It's funny that y'all are talking about Mothers in law - mine just celebrated her 75th b'day - we all got together for brunch (my husband has a sister)....it was fun, but I definitely have issues with mine too. Elegant, you're a model for us to look up to! Sometimes I think having boys is different - my son's girlfriend (who just broke up with him

) and I were kindred spirits - I loved her. Oh well, stuff happens, and life goes on.

On the topic of primers, I have tried them all I think. My fave is the NARS primer but it is pricey for the small amount of product. It is especially awesome under cream shadows. I also like Benefits FYEye but I believe it might have been dc'd.

My Venus glossimer arrived yesterday. Amazing gorgeous goodness! Thank you all for your recommendations. Now I have:

Venus, Jupiter, Mica, Mirage, Pink Teaser

Any other recommendations?

Doing a new office is exciting & fun. And the lace - Beautiful! I LOVE lace. If you do that I want to see what it looks like.

Thanks for starting that! I just got my R&R stuff yesterday and was blown away by the packaging. I knew what the compacts looked like, but the black circular boxes were an awesome surprise. Plus, OMG the blushes are HUGE! I had no idea...they're really impressive. I look forward to swatching them in a bit but for now I'm happy just looking at all of it!

I always have a long Chanel list! I collect a few things, they get removed and more are added on a daily (sometimes hourly, lol) basis.

I have a huge spreadsheet of wish lists covering everything from make-up and beauty things, to clothes, crafting items, kitchen stuff, music I need from iTunes, and gift ideas for friends and family. The same file holds my entire make-up inventory....if anything ever happened to it (I back it up on my flash drive every week or so) I'd panic!

So after my Chanel mascara was stolen, I couldn't bring myself to but another. I've been using L'Oreal which I bought on a whim. I really like it. However, I'm missing my Chanel too much now. Should I get my Inimitable again (which I love) or should I try exceptionnel? I heard it was awesome, but that it clumps. Any opinions?

You should buy the one that you know you love. Do they have sample tubes of the exceptionnel? You should call 800 chanel & ask if they have a sample tube for you to try.

yep, me too. Put somethin in the cart, take it out, put it back in... - or just order the darn thing

a spreadsheet - now that is organized! yeah, no chance of me ever getting it together that much

Exceptionnel was only okay to me. I much prefer Inimitable. I really want to try those two new MAC ones, but I don't think they'll top Inimitable. It really gives me that falsies look.

I'm not sure if this photo is going to show you the difference between Rose Petale or not, but Pink Satin is 'bluer' and Rose Petale has more peach or yellow in it. Orchid Rose is more 'brown'. Pink Explosion is closer to the same tone of pink, but PS is still cooler and obviously less intense.

Pink Satin has subtle shimmer, not gold or silver, but almost the same tone as the blush itself....how about 'clear' shimmer?

I couldn't get swatches of them to come out very well on my very pale arm, without really piling the color on, which isn't realistic (Karla has it down to a science!)
