Also, Temptalia has pics from the fall collection. Everything looks great. Still don't have my first Chanel quad yet, but I'll work on that. I want another blush. I am so in love with Imprevu, still. I have to pry it out of my own hands and use my In Love blush.

I am SO glad Shontay's Primer is working wonders on your skin - I love it too and use it sparingly.......

....... I really have to try to find a Chanel regimen for my skin - perhaps I'll work on some different samples this week. So far the only thing I'm happy with is the UCL serum (which is fabulous!). I love the smell of the Hydramax + Active (a little like pear, isn't it?) but I just can't seem to make it work for me. I'm bound and determined, though!

I put the primer under my eyes. I don't use concealer under the eye, but I apply foundation there.

To me, the sneak peaks Chanel releases don't do justice to the colors. They all sort of melt into each other and it's underwhelming for me, at least. It's not until I see them in person that I go

I'm going to have to hightail it to the one Chanel counter and find out when they're getting the fall collection in for sure. This particular counter is located within a department store that has an interest-free charge card. Woot! I can pay off that collection over a few months!

When I preordered earlier this week, the MA said that Fall starts shipping June 14th and should be on counter within a week after the ship date... not sure if that is accurate everywhere though.

Good to know for reference. Maybe Chanel will do free shipping again...I could use some more free mascara!

I think Nora - stv578 just tracked that quad down - like insanely tracked it down. I think that was the one.
smiles.gif

I did! I completely forgot to post about it on friday when i tried it out! I used the whitish shade (which I thought looked kinda chalky, but more on that in a minute!) then added the khaki gold shade from the Notoriety quad (from MAC) over it. I applied the darkest blue shade wet on the outer corner and blended it in with one of the other two blues towards the centre. Now I gotta tell you all that I'm not a big fan of blues on me, but that dark blue shade is stunning! And it stayed put all day without fading or melting downwards. I realized after that I should've just stuck with the white shade in the quad because it would've looked fine once I blended the other colours and would've made the blue pop even more. So... in a nut shell (as i write this novel), I'm super happy to have tracked one down.

Oh, and Mica is really pretty too. Audrey, it's perfect for you.

Whoa interest free?! What dept store is this?! Gosh this thread does need a warning sign lol.

Lol, it's Von Maur, which is a regional middle/high-end department store. Comparable to Nordies, but smaller.

one is the price of 2 l/g! If I had to pick one to recommend, it would probably be Mica, given its versatility and pinkiness.

I know glossimers are expensive... but there are not better glosses!! Besides, you do get more product (5.5 g) than you get with MAC (4.1 with l/g, 1.92 g with d/l and with 2.4 ml c/l).

Mica is absolutely gorgeous!!! And an excellent start point too!!

Audrey
if you can get your hands on 108 Constellation glossimer you are not going to regret it... it's way much better than Mica!!

Elegant, you know me and my taste so well. That is exactly why I am being drawn to the Glossimers especially. I saw a FOTD posted on another board using the Bleu Celestes Quad from the Spring 2008 line, and saw that it is available on the Chanel website... knowing nothing about Chanel, it may be permanent now. But anyway, I just loved the soft, elegant look, and now I want it. BAD.
lol.gif

If you like Bleu Celestes, get it before it's too late!! I guess it's going to be discontinued, not sure though.

I agree with the other ladies, that you start by getting one or two and see how you like them. Glossimers are a great way to start, or lipsticks. Don't fear, each tube of glossimer lasts a very long time!

My only advice is start slowly, and prepare to fall in love with the quality/packaging/the whole experience.

Audrey, I agree with everyone else about Mica glossimer being perfect for you to start out with. Haven't seen Constellation, but I'm sure those recommending it know what they're talking about so now I'm looking for that one myself too!
th_LMAO.gif
Anyway...I agree with elegant that buying Chanel (or Chantecaille) items is a treat. Because I look at it this way, I believe I actually end up spending less than I would if I was buying MAC. With MAC I feel like it's affordably priced so I can buy a bunch of stuff, and I actually end up spending ALOT. With Chanel I feel like I need to be much more selective. And Chanel does not come out with collections everytime you blink like MAC does either. If you are choosy with Chanel, and you cut back on some of your MAC spending, you will be fine!

VERY well said, Winthrop - I had not actually looked at it this way
winkiss.gif
.

And if you can get over the initial *ga-ga* over the existing products and select those that are truly special, you can pace yourself with the rest without the frenzy of the MAC LE collections. And it isn't as if there are massive numbers of products to choose from - the lip products are a bit addicting and more plentiful, but the eyes/cheeks are somewhat limited in their color scope (by comparison to MAC).

So true! I just got into Chanel a few months ago -- but even when I place an order for a lipstick and glossimer -- it feels like such a treat! Especially when Chanel.com offers free shipping/free gift wrap -- it sounds lame, but it felt so luxurious to open!!

I don't have a Chanel counter by me, so I have to be very careful to check out what I order online before purchasing. I haven't been disappointed yet

If the counters aren't still carrying the Bleu Celeste quad -- many online sites still have it (I feel like I have checked out all of them LOL) Macy's, Neiman's, Nordstom, Sax . . .
I LOVE it when Chanel does free shipping and Elegant told me about Neiman Marcus - they do free shipping/no tax ! Woo hoo!

If Audrey (or anyone else) is looking for Constellation they have it on Macys and Neimans online, and Neimans has free shipping right now with the code SHOPNM

The no tax with Neimans online is unfortunately only true if there is no Neimans in your state, and there is one in mine (3 hours away, boohoo).
