So I would not say one formula is better than the other as they are both great products, but the NARS lasts longer on the skin for me.

Hypathya -- I know you said that Exquise is one of your favorite summer lippies. I have been eying it for a while now. What glossimer do you recommend to go with?? (Or anyone else who has this l/s also). I always have to put a lil' gloss with my lipstick

Thank you! I going to get some Nars this September, especially the blushes!

Sorry for going off topic, but what Nars blushes do you have and which do you recommend?

I'll post my faves for you in the NARS forum so this thread can stay on topic.

Ok ladies, which one do you think would be best for my 1st Glossimer - Constellation, Seashell or Mica. I can't decide.

I've tried several of both, and prefer the JC's. I've always found the shimmery blushes from NARS far too shimmery, not as finely milled either and I'm not into completely matte blush. I recently started using Giorgio Armani blush, I have #3 and #10, and gotta say, I'm seriously loving them. They're so finely milled and even the one with more shimmer (#10) doesn't look like obvious shimmer, and they have really decent staying power. Not sure what the price difference is in the states b/w JC's and GA blush, but here they're about the same. Between MAC, Chanel and GA, I think I've found my HG blushes.

From your posts, I think our skintone's are fairly similar. My favourite NARS blush is Outlaw, I still have it somewhere. It's a warm golden pink shade.

Don't have Constellation, have Mica and Seashell is on it's way (thanks to one lovely regular on this thread who recently started up her own blog), oh wait, there's two lovely regulars on this thread who started up their own blogs! I'm referring to Karin though!!! So I could get back to you once I've tried that one out as well. But since I think I know your taste fairly well, I'd pick Mica over Seashell for you, but then the girls who have it like Constellation better, soooo.... !!!!

Not sure about Mica and Constellation, but Seashell was one of my first glossimers and I rather regretted it (ended up RAOK'ing a year later, along with Jaipur, since I used them only 2x). It's a beautiful glossimer, and the shimmer is delicate and gorgeous! But, for me, it wasn't special. Looked a bit like clear, foggy gloss with shimmer on my lips, and just made my other lipsticks look a little foggy when applied over. If that makes any sense? lol. But, of course, tons of others love Seashell, so who am I to complain? Hehe.

I looked up swatches of Constellation and it looks super frosty... is that accurate? I prefer sparkle/fine glitter to frost.

The no tax with Neimans online is unfortunately only true if there is no Neimans in your state, and there is one in mine (3 hours away, boohoo).

If somebody it's getting Constellation from Neimans... Would you be willing to do a CP for me??

I've been trying to get my hands on it here without any luck!! I'm almost finishing my current tube and truly need another backup!!

Remember that us Int girls get the baked ones!! I haven't tried NARS and don't know if they are?? I have oily combo skin and on me JC last all day, even when I'm not wearing foundation!!

I don't know how Chanel does it, but they can pull out any shade, any finish without looking cheap!!

Constellation it's sparkly (pink, blue, gold)...but really finelly milled. Dazzleglass would be a chunk of glitter compared to it!!

I preffer Constellation over Mica since C it's almost transparent and I love wearing it alone... It gives me the "I wake up this pretty" look
lol.gif
Mica it's more a milky pink and it's sparkles are the same size (have them both swatched in my hand) but this are aqua and pink.

I decided not to get Constellation yet since I have Seashell and want to find out more about the fall glossimers first, but if you can't find anyone to get you a tax-free one (I have to pay tax on my NM orders) PM me and I'll be happy to order you one.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I don't have any glossimers, but Mica is sounding like a strong contender for me. I'm a little disappointed in the customer service at my Chanel counter lately though. Last time I was there I bought 3 things, but I felt like I was rushed out of there and wasn't treated like a serious shopper. Yesterday I went to the counter because I was out of my highlighter pen concealer and I was asking about the Purete toner and was basically told it does nothing except "freshen" your face. I think it was someone from a different counter covering for the Chanel counter. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure they do more than just give a freshening feeling...balancing, removing last bits of makeup, etc. Why on earth would you pay so much just to feel "fresh"? She said I need a scrub for my pores not a toner. I told her I have one of the scrub and use it every 2-3 days and she just said "well use it more often" and that was that. She also insisted that I couldn't use the Purete toner because I use the pink mousse cleanser. She said I had to use the pink matching toner. Hasn't she ever heard of mixing and matching skincare items to get the perfect routine? Not everyone falls into a perfect oily, normal, or dry box. There are sooo many different products I want to check out...Imprevu blush, Mythic RA, the powder, many skincare items, and now Mica, but I just didn't feel like sticking around after that.

I picked up Exquise today, and I think Constellation would be beautiful over it (or Seashell, or Sundress) - it's a gorgeous pinky-peach tone and even Galactic would be pretty over it!

For a first one, Constellation is very versatile, and not at all frosty as Hypathya said. You can't go wrong with that or Mica - I think you'll be happy with either one. Mica is a cooler pink, though. Constellation can go pink or peach (actually, so can Mica, but C is already in that range) - HTH!

That's just wrong.

We have to put up with a lot of counter-people ineptitude for our hard-earned Chanel buying dollars, don't we? You're right - she's probably with another counter, and whatever you buy doesn't count toward her brand goal so she was giving you the bum's rush. She obviously isn't too serious about her job.
th_mad0217.gif
Is there another counter you can visit nearby? Is there normally a competent Chanel person at this counter? If it were me, I would call the store and specifically ask for someone knowledgeable about Chanel products and make an appointment to see them - that way the management gets involved
lecture.gif
to some degree (assuming they care) and you get what you want: a competent person to help you make your skin care and color decisions.

What a horrible costumer service!!

Shypo's already given wonderful advise!!

Audrey, you definitely want to get Mica! It's such a pretty pink. I've got a whole list of Glossimers I want to get...slowly I will accumulate them. Or charge 'em interest free, lol!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Wow ladies... This is starting to become quite an obsession! I went to Murale the other day to get my Chanel fix, and I swear I want everything!! I just recently started getting into the brand, and I'm so happy I did! Although my wallet probably begs to differ. =P

I got the Rouge Allure in Genial, the last one they had!! I am SO in love with this color it's perfect for summer! And I find it very longwearing too which is a great bonus!!

But, my ultimate love is definitely the Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel Bronzing Makeup Base! I use it over top of my Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation in the color 40 Beige, and wow oh wow is it ever the prettiest and most perfect bronzer!! I'm totally in love, it blends so evenly and flawlessly!! Has anyone else tried this? What are your takes on it?

Any advice on some must have staples for a girl who's venturing in to the wonderful world of Chanel?? Thanks!!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Thanks for the advice Shypo and Hypathya! The first encounter I was talking with (the one where I bought 3 products but felt really rushed and unimportant) was actually with the counter manager. She used to be attentive and helpful, but not lately. Maybe I should make an appointment for a makeover. I believe you just have to spend $50 or something (easy to do at Chanel) and then I might get the one on one time that I deserve! This is the only counter in my city (I miss living in a bigger city where you can buy any brand you want), but if I travel then I might pick up things then instead of buying them in my city. I wish we could buy online from Chanel in Canada!

miss_dre - Is the bronzer you got the highlighting fluid one? Another reason why it sucks to only have one Chanel counter and not be able to buy online - when they run out of the product you want you have no other way of getting it! You are also making me want Genial!

umm, yeah she should probably quit her day job. That is seriously the worse advice/understanding about product. And, you are not alone - Chanel (not all or always) has some of THE worse customer service of any company both 800# & retail!

I have the "pink" line as well. I liked it, but not as much as the "green" line
smiles.gif
. I mix them
tong.gif
I have normal to dry skin. The green does purify/cleanse the pores. Sometimes it may make it just a little bit taught feeling, but that usually goes away - or use moisturizer right after. My skin stopped breaking out once I started using the "green" line - I swear that it keeps sebum level even & unclogs pores. jut mho though
yes.gif

Oh, & no no no
nonono.gif
do not over scrub your face. That isn't good for the skin.
