Re: Interview for M.A.C Tomorrow!

Oh man, waiting is the worst! I think you did right just leaving the voicemail. I mean, I'm incredibly paranoid about things like that -- I wouldn't call back lol

Good luck, girl! I hope you get it :]

Nurse wanting to work at MAC

Hi,

I work as a fuill-time RN and was going to take a makeup artistry course. Once I'm done I would like to work at MAC during my days off. I know once you get hired you work freelance, but my question is are they flexible considering your other work schedule? I've talked to a few employees who say a lot of staff have other jobs. Im not worried about the pay at all...I just think it would be a good escape from working a totally hectic and stressful job.

Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing. Im a nurse too and I happen to work right across the street from where 2 MAC stores are. Having worked retail before Im guessing they can be pretty flexible, since a lot of retail workers are students.

Whats your specialty? Telemetry nurse here!!

LOL
I think the schedule flexibility depends on each individual location. Your best bet is to apply & see what they say in the interview.

Hello to all my fellow healthcare workers!!
I was also wondering would that lessen our chances of working at MAC because we work in health care? (Nurse's aid/hha here)

Re: Interview for M.A.C Tomorrow!

Hi!
I know the waiting is the worst part but when I first applied they never call me back for a second interview. I waited 3 months and then re applied. She call me back for a interview and scheduled my demo on the spot. So its different for everyone.... I also noticed that when I went for my demo they had A LOT people doing demos so it was like a special day programmed by them. Maybe she's waiting for them to schedule that demo day or something like that. We are not from the same area exactly(I'm from DC and you're from PA) So it won't be the same for everybody. My best advice its to be patience. The process is long...mine started in the end of may and I only was hired in the beginning of november. Did you try calling her again?

I called her back yesterday and spoke with her. She was very nice to me and appreciated that I called her to say thank you the following day. She said she emailed some other coordinator and is waiting on a response for a day they can meet eachother to go over everyone they interviewed and when to set up second interviews. So I'm not sure if that means I got a second interview, or in general they would be scheduling second interviews. I hope its soon!!!

Re: Nurse wanting to work at MAC

I'd suggest for anyone will a full time good paying job to focus on freelancing if you must.... You know in retail, they can schedule you WHEN THEY NEED YOU.. you can't depend on them saying oh .. so and so is ONLY available on weekends.. girl please.

My makeup mentor/teacher was a lawyer and decided to go head first into make up artistry.. so you never know

Re: Nurse wanting to work at MAC

yeah freelancing is your best bet. I'm pregnant and going to give birth soon, so I opted to freelance. With permenant, at least in my area, there not really flexible. If they schedule you, you have to come in. Also, you have to make your sales goal. Theres a lot less pressure on freelancers. Its always been my dream to work for MAC, so I get to live out my dream without the pressure of giving up my other responsibilites.

Don't feel bad, she has to have her hands full. There was a MAC job fair in my area on the 17th. So it is not you! Good luck and I hope that you get the job and turn it out

I hope they reply to you soon! I had an interview with Clinique about two weeks ago, they said they would be calling back soon for the phone interview, and that she is most def looking into hiring me. I called back, had to leave a message and no reply yet
