Stand out from the crowd. Whatever look you do take it to the extreme. For example if you do a pinup look,do it from head to toe! Cute hair accessories etc.

Do your research on the company!

have an application handy already so you wont have to fill one out.take a business or comp card.

and have fun :-D

My Mac Interview

Rewind about two weeks ago.

I wrote on my facebook status that I was ready and was going to apply @ MAC soon.

A local MAC manager saw that and replyed that I call her to setup an interview *FAINTS*

So I called and set up the interview and went yesterday.

I wore all black (of course!) beat the hell out of my face, tried to not throw up and got interviewed.lol

I was SO nervous at first. But some of the MAC artist put me at ease. One said I looked like a MAC girl and I actually got to go behind the counter and people came up to me for help! I'm getting ahead of myself here.

The interview was alot like what people described as far as what questions they ask. It was just me Thank God so I didn't have to fight to be heard.

I was just myself, expressed my extreme passion for makeup and MAC esp. She said she loved my passion and that she was impressed.

She said its just a matter of WHEN she'll call. NOT IF :-D

There aren't any perm. positions right now so I'd be freelance to start. It seems like some ppl look down on freelancers but seriously it's still amazing and it's a foot in the door!!

I really feel like this was all dropped in my lap by an angel because every time I went to a counter to get an app. I got discouraged. I'm so glad she could see the MAC girl in me :-D

After the interview was over she asked me to stick around!!!! I watched them do their magic and it was AMAZING!! I'm getting my all black gear ready NOW!

Phone Interview

I was working in the USA with MAC as a freelancer but I just moved to London, so I wanted to work with them again. I saw a position online for MAC at a store and did the phone interview with the recruitment guy, but "there were other applicants who met the criteria better". Would there be any reason why I didn't meet the criteria? Is it because I applied for a store and only have freelancing experience?

I'm confused! I did all the interview process in the US and had no problems. Why, even though I've worked for the company before, do I not fit what they are looking for?

Oh and am I still able to apply to other MAC stores/counters? or do I need to wait?

Please help!!! Thanks

Re: Phone Interview

Keep applying to other stores...It's not that you weren't qualified enough, it just could be that they also interviewed someone else who might have previously worked in a perm position at MAC before so they have more experience. Keep trying though
