MAC N Color Collection discussion

I did a LIVECHAT. I'm a C4 (SF) and NC42 concealer (olive/yellow skin)

Rebecca: Hi Amt. I was lookin for some suggestions for the N collection that would compliment my skin.
Rebecca: Amy*
Amy: Hi Rebecca, I'm happy to make suggestions!
Amy:For your eyes, start with MODEST TONE Eye Shadow over your eyelids with RICH FLESH or REMOTELY GREY going through your crease. Line your eyes with Brownborder Technakohl Liner. Add Light Flush Mineralize Skinfinish to your cheeks using Brush #188. For your lips.......
Amy:Do you like neutral/nude lip shades or do you feel comfortable wearing more colour (richer browns/berries/plums/burgundy/reds)?
Rebecca: I'd rather have a more nude lip

Amy:I recommend trying either combo with this eye: 1N Lipstick and 1N Lipglass or the 3N Lipstick with the 2N Lipglass.
Rebecca: Would the 4N lipglass have too much color for me? It looks like a beautiful color, but I would need it to be just on the borderline of becoming dark. Does that make sense?

Amy:It's dark, so it's going to be more colour for you. It's very pretty though and will definitely go with your complexion. It's a medium/dark bronze with plum undertones.
Rebecca: Alright. Another question I had: you would definetly recommend to me light flush rather than warmed msf?
Rebecca: I've heard good things about a lot of the msf's but I have never tried one before

Amy:You can wear either of the Mineralize Skinfinish. Warmed is perfect for your skin tone and it will give you more of a bronzer type effect. Light Flush is more coral/pink and will give you more of a blush effect on your cheeks. Both are very easy to wear and not too much at all.

I was curious as to the Lipstick N1...it seems from the pics that it may have that goldish outer covering??? I have & LOVE Soft Lust lipstick. It has that gold outer covering, but when you use it, it kinda disappears. Beautiful! If the 1N has this I'm thinking I might like it too.

That is so funny that you wrote this. I was just complaining to my hubby today about how the swatch looks vastly different from the color in the pot itself!! I cannot believe how totally different they look. If you didn't actually read the description underneath the swatch itself you would be completely shocked when it was delivered. I don't know why it irks me so bad but I am so glad to see someone else noticed it!!!

Anyway, I am in love with the entire collection. I will be broke by next week. The only products I will most likely pass on will be the polishes. And, of course, the ones that are already sold out online.

Placed my order for both the MSF's.

I really, really wanted to order more but the pictures are just to hard to read. It's soooo disappointing when a package finally arrives and it isn't what I hoped for. My closest MAC is two hours away so I need to do online buying. I missed out on New Vegas because I hemmed and hawed to long about the color. At least with the free ship code, I can add a couple of shadows later after seeing some IRL swatches.

MAC: Hi SMMY. I find that Warmed is smoother and not quite as glittery as Glissade.

Hope this helps someone out.

I was planning on getting New Vegas MSF too but when I got to the counter, I changed my mind and decided not to get it. I hope this won't happen again when i go to the counter tomorrow to pick up the two MSF.

Well, I did it! I placed my order for Light Flush!! And I treated myself to a Signature Bag, as well. This is so exciting for me! I've never bought a MSF new, always second hand since I jumped on the band wagon a little too late!

I was tempted to buy 2N, but I just don't wear lippies in general the often, and I am really weary about buying someting without playing with it or see better swatches.

I just hope I get a pretty swirly Light Flush though!

I was in the mall today and popped my head into the mac store. They told me that the N collection wasn't being released in stores til NEXT Thursday the 17th. When they said Thursday, I said "Ok I'll be back tomorrow", they said no on the 17th. To make matters worse they had the display in the back and pointed it out to me. I'm gonna call tomorrow.

Me too! That was my chief concern. I'm hoping the texture are a bit more finely milled and more glow than glitter in color payoff. It almost looks like Shimpagne for ladies of color, which is a very good thing. I've already ordered Light Flush, but for Warmed, I really want to see it in person. I'm hoping it's as pretty as it looks in the pictures.

everything about this collection looks "pretty"... the display... the colors... the idea behind it is even cute. BUT its not anything we havent seen guys. EVERYTHING looks like something else we've come out with just slightly tweaked. and yes all the lipsticks are lustres with the exception of one glaze (which isnt THAT different anyway) i dont know why they keep bringing out lustres UGH. HATE HATE. so many of the lipsticks in this collection could have been perfect had the finish been different.

and the MSFs... pish posh. i dont know why everyone makes a big deal over them. how many shimmery powders do we REALLY need for our faces lol MAC does over-do that... the MSFs are nice but again look like other colors. i really dont see the difference of ALL MSFs to be honest. on the skin they look the same to me. they just reflect slightly different.

anyway, thats my rant about the collection. it WILL be pretty easy to sell though because its neutral and will be easy to demo on everyone and can create "pretty" makeup.

In your opinion, what are the eyeshadows similar to? I am trying to find excuses to skip at least half of them...

What city are you in? I've called my local Mac store twice to make sure and they've confirmed that it will out and available to purchase tomorrow.

I'm actually really excited about Light Flush MSF. I only recently got really into MAC, so I was not here for the other MSF's (except for New Vegas, but I was looking for a pink one from MAC). So a lot of you have already been around for MSF releases, but I haven't so I'm still excited as this is very "new" to me

I am also a HUGE fan of nude lip products so I can never get enough of those lol. I'm still waiting to see them swatched on someones skin though so I can get a better idea of which ones I need!

Poop. Tomorrow is going to be painful. I'm so EXCITED! I will have to restrain myself. As of right now, I want 4 e/s, either both MSFs or one and one natural, perhaps the yellow pp, and a lipstick or two? I will try and B2M for the latter, as I don't think my bank account could handle much more damage.

>< I am so pumped for this collection though!

i know it's difficult to swatch everything on your arm and keep it in one piece, but aww...i hope some skin swatches show up soon!

*lol* I got to check out the collection a bit today but only as the counter (Hillcrest) was closing, but everything does look really pretty. She was showing them to me behind the regular displays tho, so it was hard to see one thing from another. I was most interested in Soft Ochre paint pot which she did swatch on me, and I would've taken a picture of it except that it COMPLETELY BLENDED IN WITH MY SKIN!! You guys would've thought I totally cheated you out on a swatch!

I've held out on buy Painterly b/c it's waaay too pink on my NC30 Asian skintone and I'm so glad I did. Can't say much on the rest of the collection - oh, except for Light Flush. Someone above said it's similar to Porcelain Pink but I think it's more pigmented than that, enough for a light blush. I didn't swatch it tho, only eyed it from between displays.

Light Flush is what I want! I saw this picture of a model with makeup done by Pat McGrath in a magazine a few months ago and she did this awesome looking pearly pink cheek. The skin had the perfect sheen! I have been trying to replicate it. I hope this does it!

The counter I would have to go to at Macys told me the same thing.
