I hate to say this but it seems that MAC can't make a lavendar purple eye shadow without being chalky and hard to show up! I seriously have tried and tried to make different lavendar colors work like violet, dear, laven-dah!, plum pro, and others but it is a no go. I think that I might have to pass on Lotusland then if you all think that it is chalky.

I know it will take afew weeks to get here, but I just ordered a bunch of starflash product, I'm trying not to get too excited or anxious until they ship it. I give it a week or two, patience sucks. But I'm having fun reading about everyone elses idea's I only own afew MAC shadows (not much makeup period really, i'm just getting into the whole makeup scene) so these are a HUGE expansion of my collection and I really hope a good investment. I'll have to wait and see I guess. I never get my hopes up with shipping sometimes things come in faster than expected but it is worse believing you will get it fast and then having to wait. Until then I live vicariously through your stories of the beautiful shadows and kohls...

Lavender Sky!!! Its a great lavender color with an amazing texture.
It came out a longg time ago and we LE, I dont remember what collection?

But I love it

So i got talent pool today and im thinking to go back for smoke and diamonds and top hat maybe. It just looks like a little more shimmery version of fertile on me though so i really dont know. I tried Star by Night by it self and it looked kind of purpley blue but when i swatched it next to deep truth they look really similar. any thoughts if i should go for Top Hat and Star by Night or not?

if it's not shimmery and different looking then fertile then im not going to get it. lol. i dont touch my purples that often and i dont really need a dupe. Infact i think that my fertile e/s and the payoff that i get for top hat are about the same. it's kind of strange since these are supposedly to be a creamy formula but they aren't for all of them.

that's what i thought too about star by night.

i tried out smoke and diamonds and i dont know why i zoned and didn't get that too while i was there. but omg soooo incredibly creamy and pigmented!! It was like a silvery grey color on my skin and im a NC40 for reference purposes.

talent pool is a stunning teal with golden green highlight. i can't really explain it. i fell in love with it the moment i swatched it!! if you dont have any teals and you want to start this is the perfect one to get started with!! the fact that it's a warm color vs cool makes it easier to use on all skin tones.

I skipped this whole collection b/c I am an idiot. I know it is still at the store and online, calling my name, but I won't do it. I won't even look. I have convinced myself that all the colors are so ugly and they would never look good on me. DO NOT TELL ME DIFFERENTLY. I think my poor husband will go into cardiac arrest if another black box gets delivered to my door. I'd like to save my CPR skills for CoC and Ungaro.....

I bet that these eye shadows will come back next year anyways since the finish seems to be so popluar so you can get them then.

if only i had that much will power...i am skipping Cult Of Cherry instead and limiting myself to one pigment from overrich. I can't buy online sooooo no designer stuff for me.

At first i really didn't like any of the shadows. Now i like a few of them...

I got smoke & diamonds and mink & sable today. =] they are absolutely gorgeous!! i really wanna go back to get top hat and star by night. i dont own any dark purples or blues. i wanted to get the shadowy lady quad from CoC but i think i will opt for the starflash colours instead since i love the finish on these.

i had 15 shadows to depot im almost done and im only doing 14 of them because that's all the space i have in my palette. lolll!! i'll be b2ming for smoke and diamonds and getting two lippies!! YAY!! lol. i've got some pots that i didn't use last time. lol.
