MAC - Starflash Discussion

i'm such a hoser. i bought s&d, but have no idea what to pair it with!! could some one ( obviously more creative than myself) pm me with some ideas. im in such a rut lately

today, i did s&d on the inner 1/4 of the lid, blended into tempting and then on the outer part/crease i did night porter (nars)... i'm starting to think i should have got that very reddish brown now (sry forgot the colour name)

I just love starflash this was me with Go,Grand entrance,Glamour check,Bold&brazen,and texture(which is not in this collection) a sonic chic blush and on my lips supreme and sunsonic. I love those two together!

STAR FLASH EYESHADOWS
ONE MAC ARTIST TOLD ME THAT I DIDNT HAVE TO APPLY A PRIMER WHEN USING THESE BECAUSE YOU DONT NEED IT THEY STAY ON??
AND ANOTHER MAC ARTIST SAID I DO BECAUSE THEY ARE OIL BASED AND IT WILL CREASE????? SO DO I OR NOT???? USE PRIMER WHEN USING STARFLASH??

I still need a base since I have oily lids. I still do need a base because otherwise the color payoff is not much.

Depends on what kind of lids you have, oily, dry or normal.
I think the color payoff of these are great BUT they is more color payoff with a base IMO.

For instance, I felt Talent Pool was the least pigmented b/c it was so hard to swatch on the hand w/o a base. Color payoff was poor but if you apply a base, it is vibrant. So it all really depends. =)

Bases are important and necessary for any shadow or pigment on the eyes. They need something to adhere to.

True....No matter what the finish of any eyeshadow I use, I have to use a primer. Oily lids and all....

Why don't you just try what works for you

I haven't experienced with star flash shadows as we don't yet have the collection here but I must say that I find it very unlikely that any shadow will stay on my oily lid without creasing if I don'y use a primer.

I agree Susanne! Pinks are especially hard for me to wear, but I am loving Sunset B. I was hesitant to get this one, but I really like it. Gentle Blush and Hue l/s with VGVI l/g on the lips. It was a very wearable daytime smokey eye

I agree....the texture of these shadows is AMAZING! I believe they look good on young and old alike. I'm 52 and they perk up my eyes and smooth out my skin....I love, love, love them. I bought them ALL and a backup of Top Hat and Star By Night.

I hope MAC makes them permanent and add new shades. I can wear this finish on any part of my eyes and they stand out and compliment whatever shadows I pair with them.

Starflash may be my collection of the year....

I bought Mystery kohl power yesterday and I am in love!! It is such a sexy liner! I'm going back to Pick up Raven and Orpheous soon, and of course one or two shadows. I'm so happy MAC came out with these kohl powers

I wouldn't wear these without a base, but my lids tend to be more oily.
