Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion
my thoughts on the MCLP (truth & light):
i tried to get a swatch but failed. i'm finding my camera is not good at close-ups/details. besides, it is a fairly subtle thing to try to get on film (which ultimately is a good thing, i think)
it's 24g-you get a TON of product. i'm not sure i'll be able to use it up in two years. it's definitely worth the $29.50 for as much product as you get. the package comes pretty much completely full (it's kind of hard to see how cool the texture is while it's in the main compartment when you first get it because there is just so much-you have to get it above the sifter to see how cool it is-it really is a powder that moves like a liquid).
to show just how much you get:

trying to show how cool the texture of it is (not really successful):

overall thoughts: this stuff really is pretty cool. i'm having a hard time describing the texture and how it feels...i was anticipating it to feel a lot more cool (as in cold) on my skin, but really, it just feels wet. in a good way. it wasn't as refreshing as i thought it was going to be, but it definitely felt wet. i guess i was focusing on the "cool" part of the product name and the "liquid" part of it is really what stands out.
i previously hadn't thought it really could be used as an all-over face powder, but now i kinda do. i haven't used it in that way yet, but i don't think it would be as overkill as i had thought before i got to see the texture. it kinda simultaneously sinks into you skin and stays on top of it-it melts into the skins texture beautifully (so you don't look like you have a layer of sparkle on top of your skin), but it's light enough that your skin doesn't feel dirty (i also think this will help it not break people out as badly as some other mac products, but i haven't worn it on my face yet to say this for sure). it's very soft, and very clean-feeling.
i think it's more versatile than i had previously thought-what brush you use will definitely make a big difference in how you can use it.
i do think it is important to tell everyone that this is a seriously peach product. it seems to me that a lot of the chatter around deciding which of the two powders to get has been about how lightness/darkness of skin color impacts that decision (again, it only seems to me that this thought process is out there, i could be wrong). i just want to caution everyone against thinking of the two powders in terms of lightness/darkness of skin color alone. T&L looks gorgeous on me whether i sheer it out or have in on my skin as a more concentrated highlight, but i'm super-light skinned and have peachy-pink undertones. i can't really say what it would do on other skin types, but i just wanted to make sure everyone realized that it wasn't just a neutral skin colored shade, especially if you wanted to use it as a highlighter and not an all-over powder-the more concentrated it is, the more the peach color is apparent. i would say that it is a *fairly* universal shade of peach, but again, i just wanted to make sure people thought about these powders in terms of undertone and not just lightness/darkness. if that makes sense.
