That is a joke, right?

I love you, seriously.

And after looking at swatches, I can skip that hot house lipglass or whatever it's called. I still have and covet Magnetique, which for my money, is one of the most beautiful lipglasses Mac has had in a while.

I actually like the look of the lipglass packaging. I guess it looks better on a smaller scale. The powders, blushes and shadows look horrible, in regards to packaging. I thought this was going to be grown up sexy cool. Mac started with a bang this year, so I hope it doesn't go down from here.

This is the first MAC collection where I'm going to buy everything. I am a Disney-a-holic and a Maleficent pin collector soooooooo...I'll be broke this fall for sure. I saw some sneak pics on someone's blog and I love the packaging A LOT!

I have Magnetique and Electric Fuchsia. I can skip Hothouse...but if I have Totally It and Just Add Colour, can I skip Devilishly Stylish?

Like previous posters, I would have appreciated a more "grown" up interpretation of these characters. Packaging aside, I'm only tempted by 2 lipglosses, the Evil Queen beauty powder and maybe the red nail laquer. With a little will power, I'll be able to skip the rest.

I knew Dr Facilier's part would suck...and I was right. The only good item in it is the Magically Cool Liquid Powder, everything else is just a crappy repromote. They should have just used Ursula instead. I love the other 3 parts though. I need Heartless lipstick simply because of the name, and I'm so glad I get a chance to get Violetta again, everytime I see it on the regular MAC, it's sold out.

But the thing is, Facilier didn't have to suck. Mac has done each character a disservice. It's like a lazy, slapped together collection. Facilier is great inspiration and Mac dropped the ball, so using Ursula wouldn't have made a difference. Even the colors they've chosen for Facilier make little sense.

This collection will sell like hotcakes, though. The new Mac collection frenzy+Disney+omg will someone buy this before I get a chance to decide mania will mean this stuff flies. I refuse to buy into it. I am only getting a couple of items. This blows.

they're relying on the 'OMG LE!!!!111oneone' factor. it's a shame they think that churning out the same repromotes/shades is enough for us. i think if there wasn't the disney connection, this collection would probably be a total skip.

For me, the Disney part doesn't have much to do with it. Maybe it's just because I like purples or black-greens, but I am ecstatic for these products. Plus, I haven't been obsessed with MAC for that long, so nothing is a repromote for me

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

After thinking about this for a while and letting things sink in a bit, I'm quite underwhelmed. I hate the packaging, but that's not a deal breaker if I really like the products. I'm quite happy with the sounds of the beauty powders and some other items here and there, but for the most part I'm left wanting more.

You know what's the most disappointing to me...if you remove the character pictures from the products and didn't know some of the names, this collection wouldn't read "Disney Villains" to me...at all. Darker vampy lips and nails and deeper bushes and e/s are the norm for fall collections anyways, where's the creativity that a collection like this should no doubt have inspired? In my opinion, there isn't another collection that could have opened the door more for "out of the box" colors, and there isn't a single one here. Bummer.

I'll still get a few things, as I do like the colors offered, but I can't help but wish this had been done from a totally different point of view.

maybe i will get Blush Bite of an apple. i'll cover the packaging with a sticker.

you don't buy makeup in the name of "OMG it's LE" or hype.

I, for one, like this collection because of the colors, but I see what you mean. My opinion, for Disney, they could have done this better- they can't go back later and make a part 2. They should have re-thought this some. Like I said, I, personally, love these products, but take away the stickers and names and it could be any fall collection- I agree.

They should have made more interesting products like the magic powder. But, the beauty powders DO sound gorgeous and I will be getting at least two of them.

Would have been much better if they had made new Pigments for his collection, instead of Bash and Bold, maybe made a different shade of pink, something lighter with like blue or purple shimmer. And a lime green with teal shimmer...I also would have been happy with them adding some glitters to the collection, there are still a few I want. And some Dazzleglasses, red with green glitter, medium purple with yellow and orange glitter...just any kind of off the wall stuff would have been great for his part.

I definitely agree with what you've said, this should have been really avant garde considering its a MAC collabo. There isn't a strong fantasy factor coming from this collection, no mind blowing colours, formulas, textures to really help us all recapture those classic Disney images we've grown to love. They ought to have gone all out with this collection since it has been a long time coming.

As for the packaging, i've already stated that I also am not a fan of it. On looking at it again it reminds me of those lil play tea sets for children, with the cheesy teddy bear/floral prints lol.

I definitely, as always need to cut down my list, once I see swatches i'll be more certain.

I am soo excited! And I love the packaging! Is so Disney which I love
greengrin.gif

So my list so far it might change after seeing some swatches:

Cruella
:
Lipstick:
Heartless- Cherry Red (Amplified)

Shadow: De-vil- rich copper (VP)

Evil Queen (Evil Queen and Cruella will share a display)

Lipstick: Toxic Tale- Bright coral (Satin)

Lipglass: Strange Potion- soft coral pink

Shadow:
Vainglorious- Bronze burgundy (Frost)

Beauty Powder: Oh so fair -mid-tone pink with gold pearl

Powder blush: Bite of an apple- soft coral pink (Matte)

Maleficent

Lipglass: Revenge is sweet- light yellow purple

Beauty powder: Briar Rose- Soft violet pink with pearl

Dr. Facilier

Magically cool liquid powder: Truth and Light- sheer shimmer reflects silver and pink
Cajun- Sheer bronze reflects gold

So I need to save around $200 dollars.. I hope to reduce my list to $150
yes.gif

I am curious to see swatches of the Magically cool liquid powder to make a decision about those, if not I'll skip Dr. Facilier completely.
Can't wait for this collection to come out!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I feel like the packaging is a little bit cheesy. I am a woman and I don't want my make-up to look like a childs play set. I wish they would have made the packaging more "dressed up" for adults. BUT the concept is still fun and I will just channel my inner 10 year old lol! I will still get at least one beauty powder and probably that light yellow pink cremesheen lipstick.
