Anyone know what colour I'd be? I got refreshed beige I think its called.. But its a bit too light, I'm not sure if the next colour up is too light also, I can't tell which is best.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

at first i was told that im true beige...but then afterwards...another mua swatched it for me and told me that natural tan is a much better choice for me...and it is..
its all trial and error since revlon doesn't have any tester at shoppers drug mart (canadian chain-wide store/pharmacy)

I've used the mineral powder foundation, and I found it very ashy. Also made me itch :S...The colorstay was okay on me-not fabulous. It looked like makeup. Not glowy and flawless.

IMO the first colorstay formula was waay better.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Here's a master sheet of colormatches I've compiled through working at MAC, personal use, and various postings on the forum. While colors may differ slightly from person to person, these should all be fairly accurate.

Revlon Colorstay with Softflex vs. MAC SFF:
Ivory: NW 15 lightest of the bunch
Buff: NC20 best match for fair NCs
Sand Beige: NC20-25 with somewhat neutral undertones
Nude: NC25 with peachy undertones, definitely not for pinks or true golden
Natural Beige: NW20 tends to run pink
Medium Beige: NC27 between Sand Beige and Golden Beige
Fresh Beige: NW25 with pinky undertones
Golden Beige: NC30 with truest yellow/olive undertones
Warm Golden: NW30/NC30 with somewhat neutral undertones
True Beige: NW30 with pinky undertones (for Fresh Beige in summer)
Natural Tan: NC40/NC42 more neutral than golden caramel
Early Tan: NW35 with somewhat peach undertones
Rich Tan: NW35 with pinkish undertones
Golden Caramel: NC40/NC42 more golden than natural tan
Toast: NW43/NC45 with neutral undertones
Rich Ginger: NW45 very peachy-pink
Caramel: NC45 seems to run true to color
Cappucino: NC50 slightly more peach than Caramel
Mahogany: NW50/NC55 the darkest of NWs but not extremely peachy
Mocha: NW55 seems to be very cool toned, almost grey undertone

Hope that helps!

hmmm i use colorstay combo/oily in warm golden and i'm about nc 30 with freckles...so you can choose something after that color....but the colorstay normal/dry skin has less colors to choose from.....also just look at the colors to see if they are more pink or yellow depending on your skin tone

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Does anyone else like the smell of the foundation? The first few times I wore it I kept thinking, "what is that scent?" I wear so much perfume, body cream and the like that I just assumed that was it but it was the foundation. It kind of reminded me a little of LUSH Honey I washed The Kids.

I'm between NW45 (a little too red) and NC50 (a little too gray) and Cappuccino blends really well with my skin.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

I just tried this today for the first time, and OMG I LOVE IT!!! I love it even more than MUFE HD, and that's really saying something for me. I got the Ivory, and it's perfect for my NC15-20 skin. I set it with the Prep + Prime finishing powder from Colour Ready.

Pros:
-It lasted all day. Seriously, no fading, no streaks after rubbing my nose or wearing my sunglasses.
-matched my skin
-thin consistency, but with full coverage. Didn't feel like I was wearing a heavy foundation at all.

Cons:
-the smell is kinda weird. It's not bad, per se, but it's just a little odd...kinda like honey and nail polish
-the bottle doesn't have a pump, which I prefer so I can get a perfect amount of product. But for $11, i'll dump it into another bottle and be glad for it

I noticed that too. I kinda like it. I think... I definitely wasn't expecting it.

I know this sounds crazy but I thought mine smelled like yogurt. Mind you, I don't eat yogurt that often since I don't like it, so I might be wrong, but that's what I was thinking...haha.

I can also attest to the fact that it doesn't move but your skin doesn't look made up and the foundation doesn't look heavy. My eyes tear up a lot. My SFF would slide off my face or I would have a trail going down my face where my tears have erased my foundation. With Colorstay I never have this problem.

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Ok I picked up my Colorstay....Two Bottles for $13
th_DANCE.gif
at Walgreens Buy One Get One sale....

Normal/Dry Skin Formula

So far it feels very light...the color is a great match...I got Toast but I also got Caramel as well because I tan quite a bit during the Spring/ Summer....

The smell is different....No bad but something I will have to get used to I really don't like to smell stuff on my face....But it is not an offensive odor. I agree I wish it had a pump applicator...but we are talking about a $13 bottle of makeup....

I will report back after I have worn it all day

Re: Revlon Color Stay Foundation

Ok I have had my foundation on over 9 hours and the initial honey smell is not noticeable to me once applied....And I totally LOVE this foundation.....LOVE LOVE..it is so light and so natural ...it has not budged all day...I wore a white shirt and my collar is still clean!!! That is amazing.....I did not even use any set powder because i wanted to see how it worked solo....It is a perfect match...I do think while the BOGO special is going on at walgreens I may go get another set...How can you beat two bottles for $13 ...The application is very light but the coverage is amazing......

I want to be honest and say this is my 1st time ever using a DS foundation...and I am truly amazed how much better it feels than SFF...I may be slowly letting go of my Makeup Snob ways....
