i just finished Rick Warren's Purpose-Driven Life too.
i really don't think people are so shallow as to make those assumptions about muslims. however, people WILL think they're twisted when they hear about the purpose of the suicide missions.
we don't get a place in heaven for the things we do. its not about us. its all about Him. when we do good deeds, its for the glory of God. its our duty as His children to go out and spread the Good News. i can understand that many people (too) make assumptions about christians. all-loving Jesus did that and still was condemned. we will be labelled arrogant for as long as we speak about our God and about Jesus as the only salvation.

1. the thing you have to understand about the offensive cartoons that those people published was that Muslims take their Prophets very seriously. we respect them very very much, that is why we can not even depict them in a picture.
2. about the riots. you have to understand that not all the riots started out violent, they actually started out peacefully then something went wrong. and of course, being that the media is a bunch of dumbass', they show Muslims are tempered and angry.
the fact of the matter is, is that you're always going to have extremist in everything religion, it's a fact. (ie. that shooting by a christian at an abortion clinic) i think they're borderline crazy actually.
anyways, i really respect shimmer & pashtoon for keeping this debate friendly. i also want to thank my fellow Muslims for standing up for what we believe.

As they are claiming that faith, and committing these acts, their behaviour is what the world comes to expect from people professing their religion...

well i get alot of people ramming bibles in my face when im out shopping claiming followin the christ is the only way to go forth in life, they're "forcing" their religion on others so i too can make assumptions that they use religion as a way to be bible bashers and causing un called for preaching while out and about. its not fair to make assumptions on a WHOLE religion because of a small group, thats what you call being narrow minded

yup and this "debate" just blew out of proportion in some places but its just fair to say assumptions made can cause alot of problems. im a muslim and i know im not violent or a terrorist, and ur not a bible basher so its simple really
