lol @ my germophobia -- but good girl, you don't want to catch something more sinister and you still got your great ls

Yep!

While I was there, I saw six different ladies trying lipstick right out of the tube (two tried the same one within a few minutes of each other) and I also saw an MA applying one on someone right out of the tube. *shudders* It made me sick just looking at it- I had to get out fast.

Thank you for the swatch!

I'm thinking this could be similar to patisserie. I bought it for my mum some time ago and she totally doesn't deserve it. She doesn't understand anything about makeup, she doesn't take care of her lipsticks and she recently lost my brand new (only used once!) viva glam VI l/g.
I'm not gonna lend her any of my makeup anytime soon, that's for sure.

*GASPS* Oh no, that's so sad! I'm sorry to hear that

I'm so fond of that one, too!

Salina, I hope you're feeling better - thanks for taking one for the team for the swatch

You're making me seriously doubt myself for not having tried TFG on my lips!

she said she's gonna buy it back but if I had a few extra euros I'd rather buy a NEW lipglass than one I already owned…sob

Saouri: I think I've read on the chopping block that patisserie is going to be discontinued, so if you wanna swatch it go NOW!
I think it's a lovely shade and maybe I'm gonna steal it from my mum as a revenge (this new forum seriously needs some cool smileys…I'm in need of one with devil horns right now)

our mac online already doesn't have it listed anymore (apparantly it's still available on .com at least)... arrrggghhhhhh... that's just my luck!!
Do you think they might have it at the counters still? It really looks like a very lovely shade!! No idea how long it's been discontinued here...

Oh, you should definitely go steal the lipstick!! muhahahahaha (or demand some sort of replacement at least!)

Kind of hard to describe... I think it's one of those colors that will look different on a lot of people. On my hand, it certainly leans more toffee, but on the lips it is a nice neutral-pink. Then again, I'm really not good at describing colors. Sorry!

Hi Layla - I can try and take a stab at TFG description - this isn't an easy one to describe. I'm happy to say I was the first one to pounce on that tester, so I did let the MA sterilize it and gave it a try on my lips. First off, it's a lustre finish, but very sheer, almost more like a glaze. Fresh Salmon this isn't, in terms of opacity. It's very creamy and moisturizing feeling, which is great for anyone who usually finds lipstick too heavy or uncomfortable. This is the first thing anyone is going to notice trying it on.

The color is nude, rather than flesh toned; like comparing pantyhose to bare skin. It's about 2 shades lighter than Call My Bluff, with a very slightly pink undertone and no grey or other "dirty" cast - it's a clear color. It also doesn't have any milky or whitish undertones - again neutral and clear with low to medium opacity, not shiny like a gloss, but definitely creamy and moist looking.

I found it to be a color that blends with your natural lip tone, rather than doing anything to cancel or neutralize its color. This makes it ideal for lighter colored lips. From Layla's picture, her lips are about half as pigmented as mine and you can definitely see the true color of TFG on her - it looks only a little bit pinker on her lips than it does in the tube or on the hand.

For more pigmented lips, I don't think it's going to give enough bang for your buck. A better option would be You've Got It cremesheen lipglass (from In The Groove), which, while milkier, also gives more coverage and cancels out the pigmentation....the end result is rather similar. Also take a look at the Fabulous Fantasy lip kit, which has a nude that's an amplified and a couple of options that may be better for darker or redder lips (I didn't try any of these on, just swatched them on my hand).

My personal verdict is I'm waiting for the Kissable Lip Colours coming up in Peacocky and if Super, Woo Me, So Vain or Flaunting It are still not perfect, there will be more options as the spring and summer go along. With these subtle shades, it's better to just wait for the perfect ultimate match, like with red lipsticks only more so. But if you have paler lips (and probably a little pinker, warmer skin tone), TFG could definitely be HG material, like it is for Layla!

It was absolutely no problem! It is very different on lips- at least on mine.

And I am already feeling a little better. I tend to recover quickly, so I'll probably be good as new tomorrow morning.

Plus, I always remember that none of my illnesses are as bad as when I had swine flu last year. That was actual hell.

I tried taking some pics of patisserie, unfortunately the only choice I have this time of day is artificial light+flash so it doesn't look very accurate
ssad.gif

Anyway here they are . Please excuse my bare face and dark brownish circles around my eyes (I was trying to avoid being blinded by the flash, that's why my eyes are closed).
To give you an idea of how distorted the colors are, I'm supposed to be NC15 (but I only swatched the foundation once on my hand and it even looked a bit dark). I'm gonna try again tomorrow with natural light (but no sun I'm afraid).

any resemblances with TFG? maybe this has a bit more pink...

I have no idea if you can still find it at counters, I hope so…I'm gonna look for it since this is close to end…really not worth my FULL viva glam VI

I'm pretty sure the MOA didn't have one. I called at the beginning of the month a couple times and no one seemed to know. They took my name down, but no one ever called to let me know if there was one. Not sure about Uptown.
MOA is doing a weekend long thing Nov 4-7 (i think, might end on the 6th), the big day is going to be the 6th. I'm on the store manager's call list but I haven't gotten a chance to call her back, I'll try and get a hold of her tomorrow and see what they're doing.

Hi gals! Just got back from placing my pre-order! I got:
-Reelers and Rockers Palette (stunning!! And hey, the colors actually remind me a tad of that Illamasqua metal quad- different product entirely but similar color scheme)
-Darling Lassies Palette (perfect neutral palette)
-My Highland Honey blush (very light, I love me a good peach blush!)
-The Famiy Crest Pigment (totally just WOW on this one!)

I went in expecting to like the cool/purple palette, but felt that it too closely resembled the purple palette from last year (Sorceress?) and the payoff just wasn't what I was hoping for. And, the Twists of Tartan palette, though very gorgeous, looks like it would take a little more effort than I care to give on a daily basis.
smiles.gif
Though again, it's really a fun mix of colors!

The lipsticks were surprisingly nice, I really liked Cut-A-Caper-- it looks corally, but when applied is a lovely pale pink (with a hint of coral). I might b2m for this.

Anyways this is definitely an impressive holiday collection!

Thanks for the great info! Everybody wants Glamora Castle but how special is it? It just looked gray to me. I'm interested in the peachy color and wine color too. Can't wait to check them out. I was hoping to resist a Fabulous Fantasy but I may actually be able to wear all 3 colors! Usually there is only 1 color I like with the lip kits. So adding to my never ending list.

Now the important info:

The color story eye shadows have a lovely texture - very smooth with a beautiful sheen and semi-opaque (although I'm sure you can pack them on and get them more opaque if that's what you want, but I think then they'd be too frosty). Glamora Castle was my favorite, but the peachy color and the wine one were also really nice. I didn't get any though, because I was trying to keep myself under control and they really are large - I'd rather have smaller sizes to have a chance of actually using them up, personally. If this is a foreshadowing of what the Mega Metal shadows are going to be like, it'll be true love!

As for the lippies - A Fabulous Fantasy kit has the most fashion forward colors in it, with its neutrals and browns, but there will be plenty of individual shades of these colors later in the year if you want to wait, or just get it and get a jump on what's going to be hot next year.
OMG, time to keel over.

K lovelies, if I were to get one pigment from this collection, which would it be? I'm so sad I can't get anything else but I only have VV and my maternity leave to thank for that. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the reviews and pics ladies! I think i've narrowed it down to just the three pigments. This will be a small haul for me which is a good thing after all the makeup I've bought lately. Up until a few months ago I'd never owned a pigment, I gave in a bought Melon, bought 6 of the sugarpill pigments/loose shadows and now these. I think I'm in trouble lol

TFC is the most festive item in the entire collection! It just screams PARTY TIME.

My personal choice for #1 favorite is Black Swan, though. Sexy as HELL, but so sophisticated. The silver shimmer is beyond beautiful - smudge this around the lashlines with black, grey or silver superslick liner for emphasis = Femme Fatale overload.

Yea, I agree outside of the pigments my fave is Black Swan! It's amazingly gorgeous! The sparkle is so noticeable and sexy! Oh, and for those on the fence about The Family Crest it's STUNNING! It's stratospheric with French Quarter GreasePaint!! I mean WOW! Those 2 were made for each other! When I put them on together it was heaven! I can't wait to get my pre-order!
