I agree with what you are saying too.

And BTW, what I said was not directed towards anyone on this thread in a personal, attacking manner, just stating my 2 cents that's all

OH yeah.. I know. I don't take these types of things personal. I enjoy sharing ideas though.

Yes, I did flame the hell out of some people in that other thread, but I would urge anyone reading this and other similar posts, to read any part of that thread they choose, and form there own opinion.
That thread speaks for itself.
After what some people wrote there they would do well not to reference it at all, me I stand by every word I wrote even the words you can no longer read.

Correct!

This thread was created as a poll, with the option for people to explain why they would vote for a particular candidate. I have not and will not debate any poster's political opinion here!

The only reason I reply to your post is you are putting forward your opinion of the previous thread as fact.

peace

My question is .. where do we think all this money to finance this is going to come from?

Exactly!

Raising taxes is inevitable(sp) regardless of who wins. We are going to pay no matter what. Shuks, I don't make 250K and I still know my taxes are going up

That's really funny, because most of your posts on this subject seem to be inflammatory. As you admit to flaming and all that.
You can stand by your word.
Do so.
Because I certainly stand by mine.

Lady Tish,
I love your avatar!!! Have I mentioned that?
Your avatar looks Full of Hope for a suffering nation,
and hopefully, for a suffering World...

I am not ethnocentrically saying the USA is the best in the world, &
is responsible for being the world's savior...

As people, no matter where we are,
We all need *each other*...

( & of course, he does look mighty handsome here )

No problem. I appreciate the response and believe you would understand where I am coming from. Especially since every one of your posts have been put forward as "fact", when they are actually your "opinions".

Re: 2008 Presisdential election - poll

Since some time has passed since I started this thread, I will now post my reasons for supporting and voting Barack Obama / Joe Biden.

These are my reasons and beliefs; I do not ask you to accept them as anything other than that. I will not debate them in this thread.

I find myself, at the start of a new Century, in a world very different to the Century in which I was born. The 21st Century world is made smaller by technology. In today’s world, an ill-judged cartoon in a European newspaper can cause riots in distant countries the same day, a world in which an ill-judged word, spoken by the leader of the most powerful country in the world, can sow the seeds of hatred, distrust and animosity to all Americans.
Not only do we need a great President, we also need a great ambassador.

I wish the rise of terror and aggressive superpowers were the greatest challenges our new President will have to face, that we will all have to face, but they are not. For thousands of years, humanity had used fossil fuels to smelt its metals and create light and heat; then in the 18th Century, the Industrial Revolution occurred and the consumption of these non-renewable resources increased at an exponential rate.

We are all hurt by the price of gas at the pumps, but we all should look with fear at the true price of gas. The problem is two fold.

As demand in China and the rest of the developing world grows, fuel will be more expensive and more contested. Conflict over fuel, or the lack thereof, will become more likely; it is my contention we have already fought a war over fuel, not freedom.

Global warming. Some people, especially those with close ties to the oil industry, will not accept Global warming as a fact until the surface of the earth is burned, bleached and cracked, and the sky cries acid rain tears in remembrance of all the life that once teemed below.

I don’t want to hand a broken world to our children.

Whatever the outcome November 4th will be remembered as a pivotal point in history.

Just because they can afford more than the average person, means they should bail out those who cannot bail themselves out? And why is it that ALL the celebrities who indorse Obama are the ones who obviously make more than 250k? Do they know they will be paying massive amounts of taxes... Way more than they do now! HMMMM... I don't think a lot of people know what they're in for...

I understand that most 'rich' people have worked hard to get there, but just because you are on welfare doesn't mean you're a bum, which is what it sounds like you are saying, and that is just DUMB

You know what pisses me off? after all this bailing out etc., all the financial markets are down ... there hasn't been any real upturn (as they had expected).

Honestly, the way we're going, either we cut corners or taxes will have to be raised, I don't see a way out. And when we start cutting services its a disaster.

the government has gotten too big. that's precisely the reason communism always fails...a government the size of ours cannot succeed. it's just far too big.
